Patriot. One of the best race scenes in the movie.
Robert Duvall. Harry is the pit crew chief.
Randy Quaid . Tim was the owner of City Chevrolet, who got Cole started racing NASCAR.
City Chevrolet. City Motors was owned by Tim; it was painted on Cole's first car.
Superflo. This was the first major sponsor for the team. Later Cole was sponsored by Mellow Yellow while he drove Rowdy's car.
ESPN. Cole said this in one of the first scenes during a conversation between Tim, Harry, and Buddy. This was right before he drove his first lap in a stock car.
31 flat. This was also at the beginning of the movie. His time was 31 flat below Rowdy's time.
Daytona. This is after Cole begins winning races. Daytona is shown on the ground at the beginning of the scene.

Hit the pace car. This actually happend in an ARCA race around 2000. The leader didn't see the pace car and couldn't slow down in time. Very funny story.
Rowdy Burns. If you watch the crash, you see Rowdy spin as soon as he clears from the smoke, Harry told Cole to go high cause the wrecked cars would slide down the track, but he ran into the passenger side of Rowdy's car.
Blows Engine. During this part Cole revvs the motor loud then it blows, and in the pits Harry hits the "taddletell" button and it reads about 9150 rpm's, death to the motor.
Russ Wheeler. Harry says the name when Cole is in the race shop, also the announcers say it when Russ wins numerous races.
Runs into Russ after the race. Tim - "He's fired, you're fired, you're all fired, is anyone listening to me?"
Brain. The doctors make Rowdy have the brain surgery or he won't be able to race again.
