Lincoln Six Echo / Tom Lincoln. Lincoln Six Echo was Tom Lincoln's clone. There were many scenes with both characters interacting with each other. The character Tom Lincoln was from Scotland, so Ewan was able to speak with his natural accent, unlike the character Lincoln Six Echo, who had an American accent.

The last uncontaminated spot left on the planet. The inhabitants thought they were there because they were survivors of a planet that was contaminated. They were told that they were special. They needed to keep them hidden from the rest of the world, because no one outside the community knew they existed. The were clones of people in the world. Even their sponsors were not aware that they were living and breathing beings.

A fictional creation, to give the inhabitants hope. He felt he had to give them something to look forward to. Having the island was also very useful because he needed an excuse for why some of the inhabitants were leaving.

A flying bug. Lincoln had a friend who worked beyond the restricted areas of the community. Lincoln was exploring and he found a moth. He couldn't understand how the moth could have survived the contamination, because it was too big.

A Calvin Klein fragrance. It is a real commercial for Calvin Klein's, Eternity Moment. The commercial also stars Trent Ford. When she sees this ad, she has feelings of confusion and love. She can tell that the characters in the commercial are in love and she realizes she may have the same feelings for Lincoln.
Albert Laurent, the man hired to track the escapees, went soft and helped them out in the end. He noticed the markings on Scarlett's character's wrist and told Merrick about how he was also branded. Why did he say he was branded? | The Island

To show that he was less human. After capturing Jordan, he was in the car with her and he noticed the markings on her wrist. He saw a human side of her when she started to cry. After bringing her back, he was talking with Merrick about how during war, his father was killed and then he and his family were captured and branded. They treated him like he was less of a human, becase he was a slave. The clones were branded to keep track of them.

McCord. He was explaining to Jordan the difference between backpacks and purses and she responded with, "We're not idiots". This conversation happened right after Lincoln and Jordan escaped the community. McCord was helping them. This quote helped us understand how much knowledge of the outside world the clones really had.

Because Ewan's character started having memories and they were part of his series. Lincoln Six Echo was starting to have memories of Tom Lincoln, his sponsor. He drew a boat and showed it to Merrick. The boat was one that had never been shown to any of the clones. Tom Lincoln, designed speed boats, cars and motorcycles, and owned the particular boat that Lincoln Six Echo drew. They discovered that it was a glitch, so they recalled all of the members from the Echo series.

Football Player. There was a very large billboard of the football player in Las Angeles. The football player needed a transplant, so he was able to use his clone. They killed Starkweather, prepared the organ for the transplant.

All of these (Boats, Motorcycles, Cars). He said he always loved doing it, but he never thought he would get rich off of it. He designed the boat that Lincoln Six Echo drew for Merrick.

R. Lincoln and Jordan were being chased and they entered a building on their flying vehicle. They crashed out the other end of the building onto the letter 'R'. Eventually, the entire letter fell off of the building with them on it. At this point in the movie, you start to realize that they are survivors. They are like other people, because they have a strong will to live.

However, they (luckily) avoid the situation when the R falls and promptly destroys the helicopter, and they fall storeys below onto old scaffolding.

James McCord. Mac is shot and killed at the train station where the three plan an escape to Los Angeles. Lincoln and Jordan manage to board the train after an action sequence in which the duo manages to subdue the Merrick employee chasing them by shooting him with a nail gun. Lincoln would add insult to injury by beating him down a bit more before escaping onto the train.
Albert Laurent. Laurent, a French man, was part of the French Special Forces. He was branded on his hand during the Burkinabe Rebellion, a sign from his attackers that he is "less than human".

Jamil Starkweather. Starkweather is played by big man Michael Clarke Duncan. In the DVD director's commentary, director Michael Bay states that he asked Duncan to be in the film to repay him for casting him in "Armageddon". Duncan, of course, accepted.

Harpoon Gun. While Merrick is choking him in an action-packed sequence, Lincoln manages to shoot Merrick in the neck with a harpoon gun. After the implosion of the hologram room, the two are stuck hanging by the gun, with Lincoln having a harpoon in his back and Merrick having the other in his neck. Merrick is hanged.
