Lost in Translation
Filming a commercial. Bob is in Tokyo to do a series of tv spots and print ad shoots. According to him, he's being paid $2 million to do so!
A shelving unit. Bob's wife has been redecorating their house and wants constant input from Bob. This fax wakes him up in the early hours of the morning, much to his dismay.
Kyoto. This is the fist time we see Charlotte apart from Bob in several days. While in Kyoto, she observes a wedding ceremony, which leads her to ask Bob all about love and marriage.
Sausalito. Sausalito (the band) is named after a town in northern California, just north of San Francisco.
Keanu Reeves. This character was portrayed as a typical young Hollywood star. At the aforementioned press conference, she spoke about her love of Buddhism and reincarnation, which she obviously knew very little about.

Jacket. In a very touching scene, Bob tries his hardest to find a reason to talk to her one more time before he leaves.

4:20 a.m.. After a really long trip to Tokyo, he is awakened by the fax machine noise. He checks the clock twice to be sure what time it is.
Yale. Giovanni Ribisi (her husband in the film) reminds her that "not everyone went to Yale", after she makes fun of Kelly's pseudonym.
Bob Harris . Murray's portrayal of "Bob-san" earned him a Golden Globe.
Fashion Photographer. He's one model's favorite photographer. He also played Phoebe's brother on "Friends".
toe. Murray suggests they serve it as a dish in a Japanese restaurant. "They love black toe here".
Start A Jazz Band. This is toward the end of their stay when Murray is agonizing over returning home. She wants him to stay, but jokes about it by suggesting they could start a jazz band. All that karaoke might help.
Peace, Love & Understanding. This is when Charlotte takes Bob out and they wind up in her friend's studio. These two characters certainly could use some "Peace, Love & Understanding".
Charlie Brown. Throughout the movie Charlotte's friend actually wears a shirt that is similar to the one that Charlie Brown wears in the comic strip "Peanuts". This is the friend that Charlotte first introduces Bob to when they go out bar hopping.
Brass in Pocket. "Brass in Pocket" by The Pretenders is a popular eighties tune. It's mostly recognizable by the line "I'm Special...so special". The song does not prominently feature the title in the lyrics.
Sean Connery. He states during the commercial photo shoot, after being directed to act like Roger Moore, that he preferred Sean Connery.
Porsche. In the bar, when they first meet, Charlotte suggests that Bob's having a mid-life crisis, and then asks him if he has bought a Porsche yet.
Mr. Kazu. When she and Bob go into the bedroom, the suggested prostitute says, ‘Mr. Kazu sent me, Premium Fantasy.’Her credit at the end of the film is 'Premium Fanstasy Woman'.
Two Million Dollars. Bob tells Charlotte this when she asks him what he's doing in Japan. Bob obviously gets paid this much because his face is famous in Japan, for all the movies he has made in the past.
Pink. The first shot of the movie is Charlotte's rear-end being revealed through a see-through pair of pink underwear.
Yes. She sports a pink wig through-out the karaoke scene and also in other scenes around that same time in the film.
Midnight Velocity. The title of the film is said through-out the scene of Kelly's press conference. It's also posted on all the posters behind them.

- Best Lead Actor, which was lost to Sean Penn for "Mystic River"
- Best Picture, which was lost to "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"
- Best Director, which was lost to Peter Jackson of "The Return of the King"
- Best Original Screenplay which was the solo win for Coppola and "Lost in Translation".
