19. Born on April 1, 1932 in El Paso, Texas, Debbie was at the tender age of 19 when she starred opposite Gene Kelly in one of the most famous musicals of all time. What a break!
Fred Astaire . Before the filming of this movie, Debbie Reynolds had NO idea of how to dance. Fred Astaire saw her crying and offered to help.

Betty Noyes. Interesting, in real life, Jean Hagen actually had a beautiful singing voice. Kind of hard to believe, isn't it? Betty Noyes provided the singing voice for the one song "Would You?". Jean Hagen provided Lina's squeaky voice and the voice in "The Dancing Cavalier", but Betty sang that one song.

Singin' In The Rain. Kathy Seldon becomes the new "it" girl. Don and Kathy are still together and making the next new hit movie. This is a happy ending to a great movie!

"Well I can't make love to a bush!". When the director fixes Lina's sound problem there is a cable linking the microphone in Lina's dress to the sound booth. RF comes in and almost trips over the cable. He thinks that someone else might trip over it and injure themselves. So instead of telling someone he pulls it and seeing it is connected to Lina she goes head over heels. This is very funny!
Ethel Barrymore. Kathy wants to become a Broadway actress. She pretends that she is, to Don, but she is actually a dancer. Ethel Barrymore is a classic silent movie actress.

Warner Brothers. It was called "The Jazz Singer". Everyone thought it would ruin the company, but in fact it did extremely well, and all the other companies followed suit by making talkies.

Philippe. It's a silent movie so there is no talking, however there are subtitles. So when Lina called him by name, Phillipe appeared in subtitles.

Red, Blue and White. The flowers are the colours of the American flag, because Don and Cosmo are so patriotic.
Dignity, always dignity. He says it at the beginning of the film, while standing on the red carpet and telling his story about how he met Lina Lamont and became famous.
Brown. Cosmo is Don's best friend. He plays the piano for Don and Lina in the pictures, to get them into the loving mood. He is hilarious in the movie! He sings a song all about making people laugh. If you watch the movie while he's singing 'Make 'Em Laugh' and you don't laugh once, there's seriously something wrong with you!
