Drum . Drum was played by Tom Skerrit, a great actor.
Julia Roberts. All of these great actresses were in this movie. Shirley McClaine and Olympia Dukakis were also in the movie.
Cross-bow. Drum resorted to using a crossbow that he loaded to shoot firecracker-covered arrows into the trees.
Ouiser. Ouiser snuck up behind Jack and scared him after Clairee had told him a story about the wicked, mean Ouiser.
Owen Jenkins. Shelby brought Owen Jenkins, and old flame of Ouisers's back into her life at the Christmas Party.
Eatenton. While Shelby and M'Lynn are in the hospital, Annelle mentions dropping some red beans and rice by the 'Eatenton's' house. Also, if you own the movie, M'Lynn's and Drum last name is mentioned on the back of the box.
Rejection of kidney. Shelby became ill and fell into a coma as the result of her body rejecting the kidney she had received from her mother. The words 'rejection of the kidney' can be heard in the backgroud when the doctor is speaking to Shelby's family at the hospital.
Halloween. Shelby had just put Jack Jr. into his Halloween costume when she became unconscious.
Chinquapin Parish. At the first Christmas festival the name of Chinquapin Parish is shown in Christmas Lights.
Snake. Aunt Fern said the reason she can't make snakes is because she doesnt have the counter space.
Rhett. Contrary to popular belief, Ouiser's dog is not named Rex but Rhett, possible after the great southern gentleman, Rhett Butler. Ouiser can clearly be heard calling her dog 'Rhett' near the end of the movie when Drum is teasing him at the Easter egg hunt.
Truvy's Beauty Spot. The sign for Truvy's Beauty Spot can be seen clearly as Annelle is approaching the building at the beginning of the movie.
Jones. I found this information on a cast list. Also a fan just wrote and told me that Truvy's last name was mentioned by Annelle when she first came to Truvy's house looking for a job.
Judy. Truvy mentioned 'Judy' quitting 'yesterday' when explaining Annelle's presence to Clairee.
Truvy. Truvy said this to M'Lynn while trying to coax her into revealing secrets from the Counseling Center.
Latcherie. Jackson's last name is mentioned several times but doesnt seem to be pronounced clearly. I found a cast list online to confirm his last name and the spelling.
Rolls. Annelle had very little money when she attended Shelby's wedding and so she couldn't afford much food, and the free food at the reception was hard to resist.
New shoes. Annelle was very shy but her answer was 'New shoes. Need to break them in.'
Louisa Boudreaux. Ouiser's last name was mentioned at the emotional cemetary scene where Clairee said, 'We'll sell t-shirts that say 'I slapped Ouiser Boudreaux'.'
