Eddie is the one who eventually teaches Gwen to focus on the things she can control. She learns this lesson when she stumbles across him practice pitching and he gets her to throw a few balls.

As the group becomes more involved with watching "Santa Cruz", they learn that the two main characters, Darian and Falcon, are in fact half siblings but that Falcon is diagnosed with tiny brain clusters. This causes him to have small seizures at especially tense and dramatic moments.
Santa Cruz. The soap which Andrea states has been on the air for 18 years, is also a favorite of Eddie's who is caught by Gwen secretly watching video of the show. Later, during the skit for Andrea, Roshonda claims that "Santa Cruz" has been on the air for 16 years.
Tennessee. At the ranch, though they try, not one of the group is able to gain enough of the horse's trust in order to complete the therapy.
Equine Therapy. This therapy consists of letting go of all anxiety and, through touch, gaining the trust of the horse, so that the horse will allow you to lift its leg or hoof. Gwen finally masters the technique at the end of the movie, once she is sober and decides to move on without Jasper.
Coffee Table. In flashbacks we learn Gwen's mother was an alcoholic. She teaches her daughters, that if you're not having fun then what's the point?
Andrea. Andrea is only 17 but has been in and out of rehab. She is a heroin addict who cuts herself. Andrea is a sad character.
