Wake Up Little Susie. Although "Wake Up Little Susie" was the first number one single, it was not their first million seller. "Bye Bye Love" was the first million seller, but it only reached number two on the charts.
Columbia Records. This is a tough question because The Everly Brothers signed first with Columbia, but their first four singles didn't sell. Cadence Records was then persuaded to sign the boys. That magical time only lasted two years, but in that time they had a string of hits including "Wake Up Little Susie", "Bye Bye Love" and "All I Have to Do Is Dream". They signed with Warner Bros. in February of 1960.
The Hollies. Graham Nash, of the Hollies, had a huge amount of respect for The Everly Brothers. When they recorded "Two Yanks in England" in 1966, The Hollies were commissioned to help write and play back up to the boys. The album isn't considered one of the greatest Everly Brothers albums because it is mostly non-original recordings, but the combination of The Hollies with The Everly Brothers was plenty intriguing.
In 1973, The Everly Brothers had a major falling out and split ways for ten long years. The brothers reunited in September of 1983 for two shows which were recorded and released under the title "The Reunion Concert". In what city was this album recorded? | Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The Everly Brothers

The United States Marine Corps. Both brothers joined the Marines in 1961 and spent one year in uniform.
Simon and Garfunkel. The "Old Frends" tour began in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 16, 2003 and criss-crossed the United States a couple of times, finishing up in Tampa, FL on December 21, 2003.
George Harrison. The album featured songs written by Rod Stewart and Kris Kristofferson. The song "I'm Tired of Singing My Song in Las Vegas" was an Everly Brothers original telling the story of how frustrating it is having to repeatedly sing the same songs over and over again. No wonder the brothers split up later that year.
Neil Young. It's fitting that a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young inducted The Everly Brothers as they were responsible for influencing nearly every band who used tight harmonies in their style. Neil Young was quite honored to be able to induct the mentors of so many groups.
In this Everly Brothers song, the movie "didn't have much of a plot", so they both fell asleep and he tried to wake her up at 4 o'clock in the morning. Who's the Sleeping Beauty? | The Everly Brothers: "Girls, Girls,Girls"

Little Susie. "Wake up, Little Susie", one of their first singles, peaked at #1 on the US charts in 1957, at # 2 in Britain. In the UK, "Claudette" was one week less at # 1 than "All I Have To Do Is Dream" because that song was first listed alone. In the US, it went solo and was just a Billboard # 30. The real Claudette died in an accident in 1966.

Poor Jenny. Another Bryant/Bryant song, showing a lot of humour in it's text. It was "only" at # 22 in 1959. It did better in the UK, up to #14. There are two versions. In the most commonly known one the party ends at ten o'clock. The other one says it's already one o' clock when the trouble begins.
Take a Message to Mary. This was on the back of "Poor Jenny", also written by the Bryant couple. It did get higher than "Poor Jenny": the highest heights were at # 16. In the UK it walked alone up to # 20. The guy in the song robbed a stage coach and someone was shot. He cancels his wedding from his cell, but doesn't want the girl Mary to know that he's a criminal in jail. This song was also covered by Bob Dylan.

Carol Jane. "Carol Jane", written by Dave Rich, can be found on "It's Everly Time". Just another (so called) silly love song, but easy to sing along with.
Cathy's Clown. This time a song written by the Everlys themselves. Cathy is the name of a teenage crush of Don's. The song was a gigantic # 1 in both UK and USA.

Lucille. The Everly Brothers recorded this song in 1960. The Billboard charts wrote down a # 21, better in the UK : # 4. The list of people who have done this song is of enormous length. Even Status Quo covered it. I don't want to get in trouble with Status Quo fans, so I will say nothing about that version.
The biblical queen, who gave this Everly Brothers song its name, was thrown out of a window and was eaten by dogs. There's nothing religious in this song, though. Who is namesake of the song?
Which song starts with the following lines: "If ever a devil was born, without a pair of horns"? | The Everly Brothers: "Girls, Girls,Girls"

Jezebel. You will find it on "Instant Party", made in 1961. The song - penned by Wayne Shanklin- had its first success when it reached a Billboard # 2 due to Frankie Laine. The Everly Brothers quickened it up, something that Herman's Hermits also did with the same song in later years.
PS: Also on "Instant party": "Girls, girls, girls" - the title track of this quiz.
In this Everly Brothers song: Here's a girl, making her guy feel like he's doing a baroque dance. He feel's like a puppet on a string.

Nancy's Minuet. That song was composed by Don Everly himself and first recorded in 1962.It was a single together with "(So It Is...So It Was) So it always will be". And you can dance other dances than the minuet to it. The single never reached the US top 40, but struggled up to # 23 in the UK.
About the wrong answers: that are old fashioned dances, too.

Fifi, the Flea. Originally a Hollies song, it was given to the Everly Brothers for their "Two Yanks in England" album, released in 1966. The "L. Ransford" noted in the writer's credits was used by the Hollies as an alias. They played on this album, too.
The little flea Fifi loves the clown of a flea cirus. He's a kind of Don Juan, so she dies for love. He breaks down at her grave and is soon buried next to her. Anyhow, their are "girl fleas" mentioned in the song, so I hope you are not furious because I put this question into this quiz.
