Mark Feld. Marc Bolan was born Mark Feld in 1947. There are numerous stories, many told by Bolan himself, on where the name Bolan came from. The most common is that it comes from BOb dyLAN.
Steve Peregrine Took. Steve Peregrine Took was the odd bongo man for the early two man lineup of the band. Steve Took eventually left and was replaced by Mickey Finn. For T.Rex album 'Electric Warrior' the lineup was extended to include Currie and Legend.

David Bowie. David Bowie and Marc Bolan knew each other while struggling in the UK music scene. Marc shot to the top first, but Bowie eventually eclipsed him due to his ability to continually reinvent himself. Years earlier, Bowie was told that out of Bolan, himself and one other that he'd be the only survivor. This was tragically proved true after Bolan's death in a car accident in 1977.
