Van Halen
And the Cradle Will Rock.
Which VH album contains the songs 'Sinner's Swing', 'So This Is Love?', 'Sunday Afternoon In the Park', and 'One Foot Out the Door'?
| Van Halen Lyrics
|
Fair Warning. Though most VH albums kick butt, this one is very underrated. If you're a Diamond Dave fan, read his book, 'Crazy from the Heat.' It contains a bunch of short passages about memories with the band, his philosophies, his third world excursions, growing up, and more. I found it very entertaining and interesting. If you think Dave's just another dumb blond rock star, the book will surprise you. Click on SEND A COMPLIMENT below, I'd love to get your feedback.
Pretty Woman. Another good remake. When the VIDEO for this song was shot, it exceeded the length of the song. VH recorded 'Intruder' as an intro to fill the time. Also, Dave and Eddie were feuding while recording this album, causing neither to realize that they cut the bridge shorter than the original version until later; they then decided to leave it the way they recorded it.
VH version:
"Cause I need you, need you tonight."
Roy Orbison version:
"Cause I need you, I'll treat you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight."
'You can't get romantic on a subway line.
Conductor don't like it, says, "You're wastin' your time." ' What VH tune is the lyric from? | Van Halen Lyrics
|
Everybody Wants Some. 'I love the way the line runs up the back of the stocking. I've always liked those kinda high heels too.' Spoken by Dave in the middle of this fun tune. If you've listened to this tune closely, it sounds like Dave distorts several of the words. Dave notes in his book, 'Crazy from the Heat', that he sometimes liked to make sounds that just seem to fit the music.

Spanish Fly. Nice acoustic solo. 'Eruption' was off the FIRST VH album. Many of you probably fell for that one.
'Well, the kid is into losin' sleep
And he don't come home for half the week
You know it's more than just an aggravation.' From which song? | Van Halen Lyrics
|
And the Cradle Will Rock. 'Have you seen junior's grades?' Off of 'Women and Children First.' The first VH tune released with Ed playing keyboards, though the way they're processed, it's not real obvious that they're keyboards.
Also off of the 'Diver Down' album: 'Dancing in the Street' was a song originally made popular in the 60s by The Supremes. T or F? | Van Halen Lyrics
|
f. It was Martha and the Vandellas! I thought VH did a nice job making this song their own. The original version of this tune came out around the time when Martin Luther King was assasinated. According to an interview with Martha, some black people mistakenly took the song as a rallying cry to riot in the streets.
'Big Bad Bill (is Sweet William Now)' is a song off the 'Diver Down' album. What instrument solos throughout the song? | Van Halen Lyrics
