Mark
Jesus. Mark 1:9-12 records Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist in the river of Jordan and God's approval of the baptism.

Peter and Andrew. Mark 1:16-18 tells the story of Simon Peter and Andrew becoming Jesus' disciples. Mark 3:13-19 records the names of all twelve disciples.
Jericho. Mark 10:46-52 records the story of a blind man named Bartimaeus who was outside of Jericho when Jesus and His disciples were leaving the city. Bartimaeus called out to Jesus and Jesus had Bartimaeus brought to Him and Jesus gave him his sight back.

Fig. In Mark 11:12-14, Jesus was leaving Bethany when He stopped at a flowered fig tree to get something to eat. When He saw the tree had no fruit on it, He cursed it so the tree would never bear fruit again.
2. When Jesus was in the temple of Jerusalem He saw a widow woman put two mites in the treasury. A mite is one-eight of a cent. Jesus told His disciples that the widow woman gave more than anyone because she gave all that she had. This story can be found in Mark 12:41-44.
Passover. On the day of the Passover, Jesus told two of His disciples to follow a man with a pitcher of water and they would find a room to have Passover. The story can be found in Mark 14:13-16.
James, John, Peter. After they shared their dinner, Jesus went to Mount of Olives to pray and he took Peter, James, and John with Him. While the three disciples waited on Jesus, they fell asleep twice. The story can be found in Mark 14:26-42.
Joseph of Arimithaea. After Jesus had been taken down from the cross, Joseph approached Pilate about claiming the body. Pilate let him have the body and Joseph had it cleaned and dressed so the body of Jesus could be put into a sepulchre. The story of Joseph and Jesus can be found in Mark 15:43-47.

He ascended into Heaven. After Jesus was resurrected, He met with the disciples and told them to go out and teach others about Him. Jesus then ascended into Heaven to sit on the right hand of God.
Although all four of the gospels talk about the same person, they have different points of view and sometimes give different information. Matthew starts his gospel with the geneology of Jesus. Luke starts with the story of the birth of John the Baptist, Jesus's cousin. The gospel of John begins with a description of one of the names of Jesus. A quote from Isaiah 40:3 and John the Baptist as a grown man. When I first started reading the Bible, I couldn't understand how the four gospel accounts could be similar in some ways, yet so
different in others. Then, I realized that witnesses to an event will act in a similar way. They remember the general incident, but notice different specific things.
Jesus commands an unclean spirit to come out of a man. These are all miracles of Jesus from the book of Mark. The paralyzed man is lowered through a roof in Mark 2:1-12, the story of Jesus asleep in the middle of a storm is described in Mark 4:35-39 and five thousand men (not including women and children) are fed in Mark 6:35-44.
To go into a nearby herd of pigs. This story is in Mark 5:1-13. The Jews were forbidden to eat pork, so the people of this region were obviously not very strict in their observance of the dietary laws.

The guards shook with fear and became like dead men.. These were soldiers, rough and used to combat. I've always been intriqued by the phrase, "...like dead men". How do dead men generally look? Limp, pale and motionless. I wonder how long it took those soldiers to get over being that frightened?
Simon and Andrew. Simon (Peter) and Andrew first appear in Mark 1:16-18. The other men were also disciples of Jesus, but were called later. Simon would later be renamed by Jesus as Peter because of his faith and trust in Jesus.
They were casting a net into the sea. They would've done all of these things at various times. I've always wondered what sort of man Jesus was to have caught the attention of two sun-burned, tough and hard-working men. They literally dropped everything and followed him.
She had a hemorrhage. This unfortunate lady is mentioned in Mark 5:25-34. She trusted Jesus so much that she didn't even want to speak to him, but only needed to touch his clothing.
He walked on the water to the disciple's boat. In verse 48, it says, "...and he intended to pass them by". The disciples were so frightend by Jesus' appearance that he got into the boat instead. I wonder where he was going?
Elijah and Moses. The scene is described in Mark 9:2-8. It's interesting that two of the most important men in the Old Testament appeared and defered to him.

Cast a spirit out of a boy. When you read the story, can you hear the desperation in the man's voice? His son had a spirit that not only made the boy deaf and unable to speak, but made him fall into fire and water to destroy him. How scarred the boy must have been!

Herodias' daughter. Mark 6:22-24 The daughter of Herodias came to King Herod's birthday and danced for Herod and his guests. She pleased them so much that Herod said, "Ask for anything, and it's yours! I swear that I will give you as much as half of my kingdom, if you want it".
The girl asked her mother. "what do you think I should ask for?" her mother answered "the head of John the Baptist!" The king was very sorry for what he had said. But he did not want to break his promise he had made in front of his guests.

Yes. Although King Herod was afraid to hurt John the Baptist, he made an oath to give the daughter of Herodias anything she asked for as a reward for dancing for Herod and his guest.
