Blackpool
1887. The club was formed under the name of Victoria Football Club in 1887, and quickly changed their name to Blackpool St. Johns, and then to Blackpool Football Club, all in the same year, and joined the football league in 1896.
Raikes Hall Gardens. Blackpool had two spells at Raikes Hall Gardens, firstly from 1887 to 1897, and the second for season 1899-1900. In between this period, they played at the Athletic Grounds, and moved into Bloomfield Road in 1900.

Jimmy Armfield. Jimmy Armfield was arguably the best player ever to grace the turf at Bloomfield Road. He was the first Blackpool player to captain any international team.
