Bournemouth
Boscombe. Boscombe FC were formed in 1899, and entered the Bounemouth and District Junior League. In 1923, they changed their name to Bournemouth & Boscombe, and it wasn't until 48 years later in 1971, when they became known as AFC Bournemouth.
Castlemain Road. Upon formation, the club played at Castlemain Road, and moved to Kings Road in 1902, and stayed there for 8 years until a local businessman named J.E. Cooper-Dean, leased a piece of land next to Kings Road, on which they built Dean Court, named after the benefactor, where they played until moving into the Fitness First Stadium in 2001.
Vincent Kitcher. Kitcher managed the club between 1914-1923.
t. Bournemouth finished as champions of the then third division, in season 1986-87 with 97 points from 46 games. This was the only time in the 20th century that they were champions of any division.
1983. The legend is that George Best, appeared in four games for Bournemouth towards the end of the 1983 season.
First club to win an FA Cup tie live on television by way of penalties. After the original game had ended a 0-0 draw at Dean Court, Newcastle United were the home team for the replay on January 22, 1992, that finished 2-2 after extra-time. Bournemouth won the game 4-3 on penalties.
Leeds United. Feeney never played a game for Leeds during 1998-2001, and originally signed for Bournemouth on loan, but made the move permanent just two months later.
Manchester United. 28,799 fans attended the quarter-final game against Manchester United on March 2, 1957, in which United won 2-1 and went on to lose by the same score to Aston Villa in the final.
Graeme Souness . Redknapp was sold to Liverpool on January 16, 1991, after only 13 league games for Bournemouth.
