Bury
1885. They were formed as Bury FC and played their first game at Gigg Lane in September of 1885 against Wigan.
T Hargreaves. Hargreaves managed the club for four months between January and May 1887. Hamer then took over for a further ten years, before Montgomery was installed between 1907-15. After Word War I, Cameron took charge until 1923.
The Shakers. Then chairman of the club, JT Ingham invented this nickname by stating that Everton would be 'given a shaking', before a Lancashire Senior Cup match.
Blackpool. Preece began his career at non-league Evesham in 1987, and subsequently played for Northampton Town, Worcester City, Wrexham, Stockport County, Crystal Palace, Blackpool, and signed for Bury on a free transfer in 1998. He became the club's manager in 1999.
