Williams, McLaren, Ferrari. The 1997 European Grand Prix was held in Portugal and either Villeneuve or Michael Schumacher could have taken the title. Schumacher attempted to overtake Villeneuve and an accident resulted in Schumacher being unable to continue. Late in the race, Villeneuve let both McLaren's overtake him to finish first and second. Villeneuve finished third and won the Championship. Some people maintain McLaren and Williams had a deal that resulted in the McLaren's holding up Schumachers Ferrari early in the race.
