New Zealand
Harry Kerr. Harry Kerr won a bronze in the 3500 metre walk at the 1908 London Olympics. Anthony Wilding won a bronze in 1912 in the men's tennis singles. John Holland won bronze in the 400 metre hurdles at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Jean Stewart also won bronze at the 1952 Olympics in the women's 100 metre backstroke event.
Malcolm Champion. Malcolm Champion was one member of the Australasian 4x200 metre relay swimming team at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm. Ted Morgan won gold in boxing at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam. Jack Lovelock won gold in the 1500 at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Norman Read won gold in the 50 kilometre walk at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne.
Darcy Hadfield. Darcy Hadfield won a bronze for rowing in the single sculls. Harry Wilson competed in the 110 metre hurdles. George Davidson competed in the 100 metre sprint. Violet Walrond was New Zealand's first female competitor and swam in the 100 metre freestyle event.

1952 Helsinki. After registering two no jumps in the first two rounds of the final, Yvette Williams jumped 5.90 metres to qualify for the final three jumps. She jumped 6.24 metres at her fourth attempt to win gold.
3. Peter Snell won gold in the 800 metres at the 1960 Olympics in Rome. He followed this up with gold medal winning performances in the 800 metres & 1500 metres at the 1964 Olympics in Rome. John Davies of New Zealand won a bronze medal in the 1500 metres as well.
1960 Rome. Murray Halberg fractured his left elbow in a game of rugby while at college. He won his medal within an hour of Peter Snell's triumph in the 800 metres.
Australia. New Zealand beat Australia 1-0 in the final with a goal to Tony Ineson. New Zealand beat the Netherlands in the semi-final, in the third period of extra time.

Charisma. Mark Todd won gold in the 1984 Olympics at Los Angeles and the 1988 Olympics at Seoul. This combination also won bronze in 1988 in the teams three day event. Mark Todd rode Welton Greylag as part of the New Zealand team that won silver in the teams three day event at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Eye Spy II was the horse that Mark Todd rode to win bronze in the individual three day event in the 2000 Olympics at Sydney. He did not compete at Atlanta in 1996 due to injury to his horse.Kiwi was a race horse famous for winning the Melbourne Cup in 1983 coming from last to first down the home straight.

Kayaking. Ian Ferguson won gold in the K-1 500 metres, K-2 500 metres (with Paul MacDonald) and K-4 1000 metres (with Paul MacDonald, Granet Bramwell and Alan Thompson). He followed this up in 1988 at the Seoul Olympics with gold in the K-2 500 metres and silver in the K-2 1000 metres (both times with Paul MacDonald).
Light heavyweight. Kevin Barry controversially won his semi final bout over Evander Holyfield when his opponent was disqualified for punching after the bell. He was unable to box in the final due to injury.
5. Bruce and Barbara Kendall are brother and sister. They both competed in boardsailing. Bruce won bronze in 1984 and gold in 1988. Barbara won gold in 1992, silver in 1996 and bronze in 2000. Barbara also finished 5th in 2004.
3. Danyon Loader won silver in the 200 metre butterfly event at Barcelona in 1992. In 1996 at Atlanta he won gold in both the 200 metre and 400 metre freestyle events.

Bevan Docherty. Nathan Richmond was New Zealand's third representative in the triathlon and finished 33rd. The bronze medal went to Sven Riederer of Switzerland while Australia's Greg Bennett finished 4th.
Katie Mactier from Australia. Sarah Ulmer won in a world record time of 3 minutes 24.537 seconds. Leontien Ziljaard-van Moorsel finished 3rd and Katherine Bates finished 2nd. Robyn Wong represented New Zealand in the women's mountainbike race.
Albertville 1992. Annelise Coberger won silver in the women's slalom skiing. This was also the first medal won by a Southern Hemisphere athlete.
