Dallas
Which character was originally scheduled to be killed off as early as the 5th episode of the 1st season? | 'Dallas' Original Series
|
Bobby Ewing. According to an interview with Camille Marchetta, scriptwriter and story editor of 'Dallas': Apparently, David (Jacobs -creator) initially intended that Pam should be the 'star' of the series, a Capulet stranded among the Montagues when her husband is killed. But when shooting started, and the actors began to inhabit their characters, the relationships among them began to develop in unforeseen ways. It was a question, I suppose you could say, of 'chemistry', not only between J.R. and Sue Ellen, or between Bobby and Pam, but between J.R.and Bobby, and between them and Miss Ellie and, above all, Jock. It was soon obvious to all who watched dailies -- unedited film -- that killing Bobby was not an option.
murder. After a skeleton was found on Southfork, Cliff Barnes pressured authorities into investigating and arresting Jock for murder. The skeleton is that of Hutch McKinney who was later found out to be Pam's real father due to an affair. Digger killed Hutch in a rage after he found out about the affair.
Asian wells. JR had bought into Asian wells that had not come in yet and mortgaged Southfork to do it. Eventually they did strike oil but upon hearing news of a possible revolt, JR snickered the Cartel into buying them. After the revolt, the wells were nationalized and the Cartel lost everything.
What character was found to be alive again during Pam's 'Dream Season' only to be dead again when she awoke? | 'Dallas' Original Series

Pam Blown Up. Who shot J.R.? ended 1980. Southfork Burns ended 1983. Bobby Dead ended 1985. Pam Blown Up ended 1987.
Theresa . Don't forget Raoul the servant.
Barbara Bel Geddes. Bel Geddes won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1980. She was nominated in 1979-1981. Linda Gray was also nominated in 1981. Bel Geddes also won a Golden Globe award in 1982.
357. There were a total of 357 episodes plus 1 original movie and 2 reunion movies.
West Star. McKay was well-known for his hot temper.
James. In the first scene after the opening theme of the pilot episode, the first thing Pam says is 'Bobby James Ewing, I don't believe you.'
The Oil Baron's Club was frequented by many characters during the series. What was the name of the hostess mentioned almost everytime they were seated? | 'Dallas' Original Series
|
Dora Mae . Good old J.R. always thanked Dora Mae when he was seated.
Accordingly to the story, Jock Ewing and 'Digger' Barnes went into business together drilling for oil. What was Barnes' first name? | 'Dallas' Original Series
|
Willard. Mostly refered to as 'Digger', his name is actually Willard Barnes.
Lorimar Television. Produced by {Lorimar;} distributed (in US) by Warner Bros.
CBS. The first episode was aired on April 2, 1978.
Nicholas Pearce. Sue Ellen and Nick went to confront JR in a custody battle. A fight ensued between JR and Nick which ended when Nick fell from the balcony.
Garrison. Gary Ewing was named for him.
Knots Landing. Gary Ewing and his wife Valene moved to Knots Landing in 1979.
1978-1991. Ken Kercheval (Cliff) and Larry Hagman (JR) are the only actors to appear for all 13 seasons.
Kristin Shephard. Kristin was Sue Ellen's sister and eventually J.R. 'accidently' killed her.
No . 'Dallas' was originally scheduled to be self-contained episodes (meaning storylines started and stopped with each episode). The writers changed the format after watching unedited scenes and hearing Sue Ellen announce that she was pregnant. Realizing they would have more flexibility with storylines in a serial format, they convinced the studio and CBS to agree to the change.
4. His sons were JR, Bobby, Gary Ewing and Ray Krebbs.
Southworth. Her family owned Southfork Ranch before she married Jock.
Amanda. Amanda was committed to an insane asylum early in their marriage.
John Ross Sr.. Jock named his eldest son John Ross (J.R.) and Jock's brother was Jason.
Both of these. Sue Ellen was staying with Clayton at the Southern Cross when Dusty returns with his new wife Linda. She is someone he'd known for years. At first Sue Ellen is happy for them, until she learns from Linda that they are trying to have children. Later, Dusty admits he is no longer impotent from his plane crash and subsequent paralysis. He found out not long after rejoining the rodeo circuit it was all a psychological problem. Sue Ellen is furious and heartbroken. She returns immediately to South Fork to escort JR to the Oil Barron's Ball.
Marvin. In the season six episode "The Big Ball" Punk reveals that his dear old friend Jock Ewing is the one who hung the name "Punk" on him. Also in this episode, Punk announces that from that point on every year four young people will get a full scholarship to college in Jock's name.
Muriel. We find this out in "Goodbye Cliff Barnes" as well as the real father of baby Christopher. In season six's "Billion Dollar Question" Lucy aborts the pregnancy that came out of that rape. Pam joins her at the hospital and later tells Bobby about it.
Jeff Farraday. Both JR and Jeff had type B blood, which matched the baby's blood type. Kristen miscarried her first pregnancy, which was presumably JR's baby. Kristen blackmailed Jordan Lee into thinking he was the father, as well as having JR think it was his. Bobby and Pam uncovered the truth in Los Angeles in the season five finale episode "Goodbye Cliff Barnes".
1. In the first season, also know as the TV mini-series, we see winter and snow just once. In the episode "Winds Of Vengeance" two men come to the ranch looking for revenge on JR and Ray for having an intimate relationship with their wives, and that is during a hurricane. Brian Dennehy and Cooper Huckabee played the two men.
Roger. Roger Larson was played by Dennis Redfield. He jumps into her car and forces her to drive away in the episode "Vengeance". Dennis had some small roles in "Problem Child" and "Problem Child 2".
Mark. I am not sure when this may have ever been spoken aloud, though I am sure it was at some point, but in season 5's "The Prodigal" we see it written on his birth certificate. JR is figuring out that Christopher is Kristen's baby and most likely his as well. When he receives the birth certificate, you can see it is clearly typed on there.
