The problem was that at the end of the fight Ioalus was killed and later in the movie Hercules asks Zeus to turn back time to prevent the death of Ioalus as well as a number of other innocent people. This boon is granted and Hercules opts not to go on the quest to the Amazon village that starts it all. Because of this, Iaolus could not possibly have know about this event as it never happened.

Zeus, unable to kill his own son, transformed him and imprisoned him hoping for him to be forgotten.
The regular series was meant to be a direct continuation of the 5 specials. Hercules had one successful spin off, that of "Xena: Warrior Princess". In Xena's first appearance she wanted to kill Hercules so no one else would dare challenge her. Hades. This was a very accurate retelling of the classic myth (minus Hercules's involvement). Eros and Psyche. Eros is the son of Aphrodite and encounters Psyche due to Aphrodite's jealousy of her. She orders Eros to make Psyche fall in love with someone quite disgusting but Eros falls in love with psyche instead. The title refers to not only the concept of jealously but that Eros has a curse that actually changes him into that if he loves a mortal. Ultimately Aphrodite accepts their union and makes Psyche a god so they can be together.
The story of Pygmalion and Galatea is similar to Pinocchio in that both creators want their perfect creations to come alive.
