1964. The first episode aired on September 18, 1964.
Tim Matheson. Matheson has been appearing on TV and movies for over 40 years.
26. These episodes were originally aired on primetime by ABC.
'Mystery of the Lizard Men'. This was the first episode broadcast, but the first show produced was 'Double Danger'.
'The Sea Haunt'. A treasure, a deep sea monster and a galley cook found hiding lie in wait when the Quests investigate an abandoned ocean freighter.
0. Females in general were seldom seen on the show.
Dr. Zin. Dr. Zin was in 4 episodes, 'The Riddle of the Gold', 'The Robot Spy', 'Double Danger' and 'The Fraudulent Volcano'.
'The Outer Limits'. He was the 'Control Voice' on the classic sci-fi show.
Bandit. Bandit was a bulldog puppy.
Calcutta. An 11-year-old orphan from Calcutta, India, Hadji was officially adopted by Dr. Quest after saving the doctor's life from a knife-throwing would-be assassin.
Roger. Roger T. 'Race' Bannon was an intelligence operative assigned to protect Jonny, Dr. Quest and Hadji.
'Terry and the Pirates'. Barbera liked the look, gadgets and exotic locations of 'Terry and the Pirates'.
2. 'The Invisible Monster' and 'Monster in the Monastery' were the 2 episodes.
He could levitate objects. Hadji could also hypnotize bad guys with the jewel on his turban.
Palm Key. This small island is presumed to be somewhere off the western coast of Florida.
1. 'Turu the Terrible' was a pteranodon (a kind of pterodactyl, or flying reptile) controlled by a white slaver named Deen.
Doug Wildey. Wildey designed the main character models, produced many of the storylines, the atmosphere and style.
In the episode "The Dragons of Ashida," Dr. Ashida had changed from a knowledgeable wildlife expert and friend of Dr. Quest, into a villian who mutated what animal to create his 'dragons'? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
Iguana. Dr. Ashida turned the usually docile lizards agressive and liked to pit one against another to fight, as well as to use them to keep the Quests captives on his island. He met his end when his massive assistant, Sumi, fed him to the dragons in a fit of rage.
This huge pteranodon was trained by Deen to fly into the jungles of South America and bring back slaves to work in his silver mine. What was the creature's name? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
Turu. The episode was called "Turu the Terrible." The creature and his master both met their ends when Quest and Race shot Turu into a tar pit.
This creature was accidentally created by Dr. Isaiah Norman in an experiment gone wrong. It was forced to wander the jungles feeding until Dr. Quest and the gang stopped it. What was the creature called? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
The invisible monster. Because it was invisible, the Quest gang had a hard time stopping it (or seeing it) at first, following it by the strange noises it made and its footprints. They eventually came up with the idea of dropping paint on it, which worked for some reason. But not before poor Dr. Norman had his neurons sucked into the energy-hungry monster.
In one of the most popular episodes, a device known as the robot spy was created by criminal master-mind Dr. Zin in order to steal the secret of what sort of weapon, created by Dr. Quest? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
A para-power ray gun. The para-power ray gun was supposed to drain the power from any device, leaving it inoperable but not destroyed. Zin thought so highly of it that he created the robot spy to learn how it worked. Of course, one wonders how someone who is so intelligent that they can create a mind-sucking robot would not be able to create a (less) cool ray gun.
Anubis. The mummy of Anubis was set free when artifacts were stolen from his tomb, and in his wrath, he (very) slowly made his way across the desert to seek his revenge. The real Anubis, of course, was the God of the Egyptian underground until Osiris took over. He was never human, so he never would have been a mummy.
There's only one Race Bannon, but in the episode "Double Danger" there was briefly a second impostor Race. Who discovered that the look-alike villain, Korchek, was not who he was pretending to be? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
Jade. She discovered Korchek was not Race was by kissing him. Apparently, there are some things that just can't be mimicked...
In the episode "The Sea Haunt," the Quests boarded a deserted ship on the Java Sea, only to find it haunted by a mysterious sea creature. Dr. Quest says the creature looks like a cross between a manticore (lion-like creature) and what other mythical beast? | Monsters and Villains of "Jonny Quest"
|
A hippocampus. The beast is supposed to look something like part lion (manticore) and part hippocampus (half-horse and half-fish). Truthfully, it looked more like a guy in a green wetsuit crossed with a praying mantis. The boys find that the monster is afraid of fire and use this to force it off the ship.
Dr. Benton Quest. Dr. Benton Quest was a brilliant scientist, a kind of renaissance man - dabbling in biology, physics, electronics and able to handle himself like a secret agent.
Jonny Quest's father had a memorable physical characteristic. What was this?
| "Jonny Quest"
|
Red hair and beard. Dr Quest's bright red hair and beard were his most notable physical attributes. Of course, his intellectual prowess was key to the show.
A bodyguard, Roger Bannon, is part of the "Jonny Quest" cast. What was his nickname?
| "Jonny Quest"
|
Race. The government feared that Jonny would be sought after by evil-doers hoping to distract his scientist father. So, Race Bannon was hired to protect and mentor young Jonny.
Who was the voice behind the character, Jonny Quest?
| "Jonny Quest"
|
Tim Matheson. While all the "Tims" supplied as answers are well-known celebrities, it was Tim Matheson who voiced Jonny. He did so at age 17.
Who was the Indian boy who was part of the Quest family?
| "Jonny Quest"
|
Hadji. Dr. Quest met Hadji while lecturing at Calcutta University. Hadji was a sort of street urchin and managed to save Quest's life. Quest then adopted Hadji. This can all be seen in a flashback during the episode, "Calcutta Adventure".
Bandit. Bandit often brought comic relief to the sticky situations in which the Quest team found themselves. He was mostly white and the dark patches around his eyes made him appear as if he were wearing a bandit's mask.
Napoleon Zin. Dr. Napoleon Zin, the Asian mad scientist, was reminiscent of James Bond's villain, Dr. No. In fact, the wrong answers supplied to this question are all Bond villains. Zin appeared in multiple episodes, the only "bad guy" to do so.
