    'Las Vegas'- Season 1

At the end of the episode, the whole gang have gathered at a barbecue at Mike's place. Aside from Ed having Jillian and Delinda there, one other person has brought their family along. The family consists of a spouse and two children. Who's family is it?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Mike. Yes! Mike has his wife and two kids there. The family was cut after this episode though. Producer Gary Scott Thompson scrapped his family simply stating that they preferred the idea of Mike being single like the rest of the cast.

Which of the main characters actually joins the Montecito during this first episode?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Samantha Marquez. Samantha Marquez, played with aplomb by the beautiful Vanessa Marcil, worked at the Red Dragon Boat. She is wooed by Danny to work for the Montecito exclusively in return for taking the whale, Mr. Herman. Marquez is signed to receiving 30% of everything her clients gamble at the casino...and she scores a free suite!

Also in this pilot episode is a cheater. He manages to get up to $3 million by winning at Blackjack. This cheater is using a small camera on his finger which feeds to an accomplice, who sees the cards on his PDA. The accomplice then tells the cheater what cards are coming through an ear piece built into his sunglasses. The question is... the accomplice was working at the casino in which area?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Valet. When Danny is in a suite talking to Mr. Bunny Slippers and Sam... it suddenly dawns on him how they are cheating. Sam pulls out her PDA, which reminds Danny of the guy working in valet who almost ran him over twice...as he had his eyes transfixed on his PDA. This helps Danny prove that he is too invaluable to the casino for Ed to fire him for sleeping with his daughter.

The pilot introduces us to a very important set of characters in the show. These characters are basically high-rollers that rival casinos compete each other over to land. They are known as 'Whales'. This whale, the first whale we come across, is one that has been lured away from the Montecito and to the Red Dragon Boat. Ed tells Danny to get him back at any cost...but what is his name?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Mr. Herman. Mr. Herman travels around with no less than 5 ladies with him wherever he goes. Without Mr. Herman, the lovely Samantha Jane Marquez would never have come to the Montecito.

A character by the name of Tom Bay appears at the casino. He starts with about $450 and ends up winning $1.3 million! The difference with this punter is that he lives on the streets and isn't exactly what you'd call appropriately attired. What item is he wearing that stands out?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Bunny slippers. He earns the moniker of Mr. Bunny Slippers for his fluffy pink shoes. This, along with the elevator story, is based on a true happening in Vegas. A bum off the streets wearing bunny slippers walked in, cashed his social security cheque and made out with around $900,000. Unfortunately he then proceeded to lose it all there too.

The pilot introduces us to one of the more impressive members of the show, Danny's car. What is the main colour of his car?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Yellow. This beast is yellow with two black stripes running down the center. We later learn that he worked on fixing up the car with his father for his mother, and that the car is his memento of her.

During the dinner scene, Delinda, Ed's daughter, enters and passionately kisses Danny right in front of her parents. This is too much for Ed, who performs what amusing action?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Grabs his fork tightly, ready for a stabbing. Luckily, Jillian is there to save the day. She anticipates the fork and quickly snatches it from Ed's hand. In an episode later in season One - Luck Be A Lady, Ed returns the favour by snatching a fork from Jillian's hand!

Danny had been sleeping with Delinda, not knowing that she was in fact his boss' daughter! When Ed walks in on them together, Danny fears for his life, and is cornered by Ed into showing that he has a real interest in Delinda and is not just using her for sex. Ed invites Danny to dinner with his wife and Delinda so that Danny can start being part of the family. Here we are introduced to Ed's wife and Delinda's mother. What is her name?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Jillian. Played by the absolutely stunning Cheryl Ladd, Jillian is a guest character who appears in various episodes. Her on screen chemistry with James Caan is brilliant.

After the starting scene, we are briefly introduced to the main characters in the show. The introductions end and we are sent to the surveillance room where Big Ed and Danny have spotted something dodgy going on in an elevator. It's the Montecito's first problem! What are these two people doing?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

Having sex. Including Danny and Delinda's one, that makes it two sex scenes in the opening five minutes of the pilot. No wonder this show made it! The couple are having sex against the wall, all the while knowing they are being watched by the cameras. Poor Danny has the awkward task of stopping the show. Rumour has it that this scene is a tribute to an un-named Hollywood starlet who frequently engages in this activity in elevators around Las Vegas!

The opening scene of this, the first episode, shows what?"Las Vegas" - "Pilot"

A dead body in the desert. Indeed the first scene is of an un-named body in the desert who we later find out to be Greg. The producer and writer, Gary Scott Thompson, said that this was a new twist on the old 'who-dunnit' theme, with the viewer knowing there was a dead body, but not knowing who it was! Throughout the show, the viewer could guess who had died. After seeing the dead body, we then go down a fast paced tour of the strip and then into Delinda and Danny's scene.

In a touching moment during the final shot of this episode, Mary and Danny spread Greg's ashes where?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Behind them while driving down the strip. The final scene shows Danny and Mary both holding the urn as the ashes spill behind them while driving down the strip. Luckily, there is no car behind them as they do so!

At the wake for Greg, all the gang have gathered to pay their respects in the Bella Sara Lounge. Glenn Schaeffer makes his second guest appearance here in as many episodes...but who first raises their glass to toast Greg?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Danny's father. Danny's father performs the toast to Greg as Greg had been working for him for a while before he died. With Danny leaving for the marines, Greg became like a son to him. An Elvis impersonator then performs a second toast - "Viva Las Vegas", for no apparent reason.

This episode is the first to feature scenes from Ed's office. Where is his office located?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Above the security room. A bit of a tricky one this. During season one, his office was above the security room. They moved it to be adjacent to the room from season two onward.

The Desert Championships are held up by a problem with the machine that is helping running the event. Who ends up fixing the problem...that they themselves had caused?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

King Arthur. Once again...it's King Arthur to the rescue! He gets shot down by Ed, who tells him that he's actually not King Arthur, which makes a despondent King Arthur throw his sword into the wave pool, but thinking he was giving it to the Lady of the Lake! King Arthur later dives in to retrieve the sword and save the day for everyone! Silly Merlin...

Throughout the "Pilot" episode, and this episode, Danny has been trying to get in contact with one of his childhood friends, Greg. Unfortunately, Luis has found out that he has been murdered. Danny takes matters into his own hands by trying to find who killed him and with a search of Greg's caravan, he finds the name of a loan shark who is well known for being dirty, corrupt and downright evil. What's the name of this killer?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Tyler O'Reilly. Danny spots O'Reilly while driving down the strip. He proceeds to chase him and catch him, kicking the stuffing out of him in the process. Thankfully Luis comes in to pull Danny off O'Reilly before he kills him and spends a long time in prison. Luis arrests O'Reilly and justice seems to be done.

The senator is causing some headaches for the staff as a reporter is following him everywhere. The senator seems to have power over Ed, hence why he won't kick him out. The reporter is the first person to tell Danny that the senator has something over Ed. But who is the second person that warns him... to which Danny replies - "You and me both"?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

King Arthur. Ahh the brilliance that is King Arthur. He appears almost at random next to Danny... without having being involved with anything that had been going on and says "Lancelot, I fear no good will come of Merlin's connection with this evil sorcerer". Danny replies, then looks again in bemusement that he just said that to King Arthur. King Arthur then goes on to take Nessa's arm and walk off into the distance, to live happily ever after.

This episode introduces the Montecito's link to the police force. A life long friend of Danny's - Detective Luis Perez. Who plays Luis Perez?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Guy Ecker. Detective Perez is well played by Ecker. John Terry plays Danny's father. Molly Sims plays Delinda and Luis Ramirez is no-one. Ecker is a semi-regular throughout the first two seasons.

The Montecito hires a method actor to play King Arthur for the entertainment of the guests. He refers to Big Ed as Merlin, Danny as Lancelot...but which of the fair ladies does he claim as Guinevere?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Nessa. King Arthur walks around wearing real armour! He manages to appear many a time during the episode at a clinical moment to save the day or offer some handy advice. At the start, he gets on bended knee to speak to Nessa who he believes to be Lady Guinevere. Nessa looks back in bewilderment.

This episode also features a whale who is a well known senator. He preaches about how evil gambling, hookers and the like are... yet frequents Las Vegas wearing dark glasses and hiding from all media whilst gambling and sleeping around! The senator's name is...?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Bill Henderson. Senator Henderson is one bad boy. In his first scene which is outside his suite, he has 12 young women lined up in French maid outfits, ready to service him. Later on, Henderson is signing copies of his new book - 'Virtues & Morals for a society corrupted by the Liberal Left'.

The Montecito is holding the 'Desert Championship' for a sport that would usually be impossible to perform in the desert. What sport is contested?"Las Vegas" - "What Happens In Vegas..."

Surfing. The Desert Surfing Championships are being held at the Montecito with the help of a specially made wave pool. The artificial waves provide consistent waves which allow the surfers to show off more of their skills.

Donny decides that he and his wife won't make it, even though he doesn't know her secret. He gets the marriage annulled... and Donny says to Ed in the pancake parlour... "You know, I started thinking to myself... ____________?""Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

What if she doesn't like my dog?. Poor Donny. He makes the right decision in getting the marriage annulled...but the reason blows Ed out of the water. Considering Ed had gone to the trouble to tell Marie after he had caught her with the money, that she must be a loving wife to him for one year, he goes ahead and gets rid of her!

Which regular cast member doesn't feature once during the entire episode?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Nessa. Mike helps Danny with the car thief and Sam deals with Marie. They both feature heavily during the episode. Mary only has a small part near the beginning when she talks to Danny about Delinda dumping her. Nessa is not to be seen.

At the end of the episode, Ed and Donny have breakfast at Ed's favourite place in town... a charming pancake parlour. He often says they make the best pancakes you'll ever have. But what is different about this pancake parlour than most normal ones?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

The waitresses are topless. Poor Donny is in heaven. Ed has to remind him that there's pancakes to be served. Donny: "This may be a pancake house... but I don't see a flapjack in the joint"

During the stolen car deal process, Danny gets in a bit of trouble. The thief takes him to a factory parking lot and holds him at gunpoint. He tells Danny to get out of the car and takes the money with him. Luckily, we see Danny's car being driven straight to him...with the driver telling him to hop in. Who's the driver?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Mike. It's Mike! Danny passed him a $5 note with 'Follow me" written on it. With Mike working in valet at the time...the thief didn't think anything of it. After the catch the thief...Danny and Mike have a chat. Mike: "How'd you know I'd check that note on the bill?" Danny: "Well you checked Malouf's $100".. Mike: "But you gave me five..." Danny: "Which I want back..."

Unfortunately for Donny, Ed finds out that his new wife isn't being entirely honest. What is she hiding?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

She's a con-artist. Donny asks Marie to go get $30,000 from the suite. Ed, feeling suspicious, gets Sam to escort her up there. Marie then makes a break for it when a marching band comes along. She manages to get away...but for how long?

Ed is a bit disappointed that Delinda, his daughter and Danny have split up as he was warming to Danny. Even a little bit more so knowing that it was Delinda's doing. Ed has a fair idea that Delinda is a party girl and sleeps around a lot... something that obviously doesn't sit all that well with him. Delinda goes to her father's office to ask some advice. What is Ed's quick reply when Delinda says "I came here for some advice..."?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Yes, joining a convent is a good idea. The fact that Ed said this without even a smile goes to show how he feels! But Delinda was asking for a job! The script had been originally written that Delinda was to be a recurring guest star, like her mother Jillian is. But the audience and writers liked her character so much...they needed to write her into the show. This is the starting scene of that evolution.

Donny and his new found love are getting a quickie wedding in a chapel, with Ed being the best man. What have Donny and his fiancé dressed up as for the wedding?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Hippies. As Marie heads to the ladies room just before the wedding, Donny and Ed talk about the marriage. Donny: "Isn't she something?" Ed: "Yep" Donny: "I never thought anyone would marry ME...I asked a girl once...she thought it was a joke, I mean she actually started laughing..." . The couple before Donny and Marie are wearing Roman outfits, and the celebrants are wearing Elvis costumes.

Danny is feeling great about his relationship with Delinda, and goes to her at the pool to have a quick chat. Unfortunately, Delinda decides to break up with Danny here in a beach hut. She states that he has a 'reckless deficiency' as the reason why she's leaving him! She also makes a statement about their sex life. What term does she use to describe it?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Above average. Upon hearing this, Danny's heart sinks. He feels that above average isn't exactly a good thing to hear from a woman you've only slept with 5 times. Later he tells Mike what she said, to which Mike replies "Above average? Man...that's cold.." Danny: "She said we can still be friends". Mike : "Ouch".

In this episode we meet one of Ed's cousins, Donny. Donny is staying at the Montecito where he has met a nice young lady! What is this lady's name?"Las Vegas" - "Donny We Hardly Knew Ye"

Marie. Ed: "Wait a minute... Donny and Marie?" Donny: "I know what you're thinking... which one's country... which one's rock 'n' roll?" Ed: "Um. Anyway..."

Who was the first of the regular characters to visit Mystique? They walk out of Mystique telling Delinda it was the best meal they've ever had. For a small trivial hint...this character is also the first of the regulars to appear on screen in the very first episode of Las Vegas! So who is it?"Las Vegas" "Jokers And Fools"

Mike. It's Mike! In his only scene in the episode... he thanks Delinda for the meal, which dumbfounds Danny and Ed as Delinda is not letting them in...they aren't on the guest list! Delinda also lets in a man named Ethan for a friend...but still not Ed and Danny. To elaborate on the starting scene in the first episode... the first scene has the dead body in the desert and the camera whooshes down the strip toward the Montecito. Mike is the first character seen...as the whoosh slows down to see him out the front of the casino working in valet. The whoosh then goes indoors to meet the other characters.

Someone dies in this episode. Who is it?"Las Vegas" "Jokers And Fools"

Anton. Anton the psychic tells Mary that someone is going to die during his next show...that he can feel it. When no-one dies during his penultimate show like he said... Danny is amused and he busts Anton's method of knowing what's in people's purse. Unfortunately...Anton has a brain aneurysm during his last show, something totally undetectable.
