Marge vs the Monorail
the letter 'M' and rope. The rope and 'M' is used as an anchor, and gets lodged in a large donut, stopping the monorail and Homer saves the day!
What seat is the man who sold the monorail to Springfield on, when he flys into North Haverbrook? | 'Marge Vs. The Monorail'
|
3F. He was seated on 3 F, according to the mob in North Haverbrook waiting for him to land.
Solar power. They couldn't kill the power to the monorail when it got out of control because it was solar powered - when the sun went behind a cloud it slowed, then sped up again as the cloud moved!
Sebastian Cobb. The runaway was saved by the huge 'M'.
Bitey. 'I call the big one Bitey.' - Homer
Tahiti. Lyle was on his way to Tahiti, after selling the monorail to Springfield.
According to the book that Marge reads about the monorail, the monorail is capable of going over how fast? | 'Marge Vs. The Monorail'
|
150 mph. Marge didn't feel it was safe for Homer to be driving at such a speed.
Hoju. Ho for HOmer, and Jo for JuniOr, I presume!
Homer. How many jobs has this man had?
Monorail Conductor Aptitude Test. Homer had Bart test him on the MCAT, which is the Monorail Conductor Aptitude Test.
Lanley Institute. Lyle Lanley advertised for the Lanley Institute, and taught us that mono means one, and rail means rail.
In this episode, we are shown a map with the towns on it, which state is it reasonable to assume that Brockway is in? | 'Marge Vs. The Monorail'
|
Georgia. Brockway looks to be in Georgia, or that general area, if you scrutinize the map.
Main Street. Marge feels that Main Street is in desperate need of repair, and that the $3million will help repair it.
8. Apu says he has been shot eight times this year, almost causing him to miss work!
Snrub. Burns says his name is Snrub, which is Burns spelled backwards.
Who wants the money to be used to obtain new firemen, to put out the blaze on the east side of town? | 'Marge Vs. The Monorail'
|
Maude Flanders. Maude Flanders suggests this at the town hall meeting, when everyone is having a discussion on what to do with the money.
Giant billboards. Does nobody want computers for the police force?
Giant mechanical ants. Bart wants giant mechanical ants that will rip the school apart.
Underfunded public schools. If you know Lisa, then you realize she wants to help out the public schools.
$3 Million. It is this money that funds the monorail.
Trees. 'Oh, come on Smithers, that last tree held nine drums!'
Chestnut. 'Simpson, Homer Simpson, he's about to hit a chestnut tree.' Homer sings this line shortly before he hits the tree.
The Flintstones. 'Simpson, Homer Simpson, he's the greatest guy in history.'
"Ho-ju". This is after Bart remarks on how proud he is of his dad. This joke sounds to me like Conan O'Brien showing through. On his late-night show, he often makes funny names out of words like that.
Tahiti. Apparently, Springfield's surprisingly well-connected airport offers non-stop flights to Tahiti. In other episodes, non-stop flights to Tokyo and Paris have been available.
two comely lasses of virtue true.. Mayor Quimby responds by demanding "how many broads do I get?" Such a charter is not a surprise in a town that has had a snake-whacking day and at least one anti-Irish riot, as well as numerous outbreaks of mob violence for usually petty reasons.
Solar power. "Solar power - when will people LEARN?!"
Sebastian Cobb. When asked what can be done about Springfield's monorail, Cobb warns Marge "you just better have a damn good conductor!" The next frame shows Homer the conductor trying to jimmy the door open to retrieve his keys...
"Where the monorail is king!". If you watch the Simpsons regularly, you will see that every sign always has a funny slogan underneath. I think a few attractions the Simpson family have visited have said "now __% quainter." Also, the church sign is famous for having funny comments such as "No more than $50 kept on premises" etc.
North Haverbrook. She finds the town deserted except for a few crazy or scared people.
