|
Ros. "Ros Marshall is the younger daughter of legal legend Joe Marshall, Supreme Court Judge, Director of Public Prosecutions, QC. Freelance Barrister. "Verity met and fell madly in love with Dylan Boyd, an ambitious boy from the wrong side of town. She devoted herself to his career and even that she did brilliantly. He rose quickly to become one of the most highly regarded QCs in town. By that stage his arrogance and self-serving opportunism had finally worn her down. A stormy marriage ended in acrimonious divorce and Verity was left with nothing but a major case of debt. Verity is now trying to climb her way back up the career ladder. Even with her fine intellect and knowledge, making it in the highly competitive world of the independent bar is not easy."

six. "With a six-year age difference, Verity used to ‘mother’ her little half-sister Ros when they were children. With her own mother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and Ros’ from disinterest, the two sisters have forged and extremely close emotional bond."

Yes. "Verity has a façade of sass and self-confidence but underneath there is the constant worry that it’s all going to fall apart. She keeps herself in great shape, is a gourmet cook but hasn’t ventured near a relationship, let alone sex, since the divorce. The emotional battering from her failed marriage is just too close to the surface."

Dylan. "Ros is best mates with Verity’s ex, Dylan Boyd QC. He’s like an older brother to her and was totally supportive during her ‘rebel phase’. Both armed with finely tuned rubbish detectors, Ros and Dylan know they can always confide in each other."

winding Verity up. "Dylan regrets not achieving his dream of becoming the head of family with Verity at his side as the perfect wife and mother. If he can’t be with her the next best thing is to bother her. Revelling in the fact that he is a successful QC and she is a struggling barrister, he regards winding her up as terrific sport. One at which he’s very good."

Yes. This wasn't exactly good news for Ros because during an early episode she spoke down to him and now doesn't think that she'll be able to win her trial.
Third to the right, top row. Ros' solicitor points this out to her during the trial and Ros has a hard time finding him until those directions were given out.
Yes. Yes, Ros forgot her wig when she went back into the court room after being to the 'Ladies Room' and then again when she was chatting with her boss and she was called back to the court room because the jury had come out of their room.
Two. Verity had been out with 'Mr Wonderful' for two nights. She could have been out for more but this is not shown during the episode. Verity describes him as 'excellent in bed'. (That's probably why she calls him 'Mr Wonderful'!)
Yes. Ros meet 'Mr Wonderful' at the bar in which many of the onscreen actors and actresses meet with clients, have lunch, catch up on some much needed caffeine or listen in the latest gossip. Ros ends up sleeping with him and that morning when she walks up the stairs he takes a photo of her saying that her face and the light were perfect together. (Not sure if I'd recommend that has a pick up line guys!)
One and a half. Verity slept in that morning after being with 'Mr Wonderful' for the first night and was still asleep when Prue called her on her cell phone. She tries to cover this up by saying that her car was broken down on the freeway.
that he has had the most extraodinary fantasies. Dylan confessed this to Ros after he had a session of running and kept thinking about woman. This isn't helped by Prue's little input.
wipe the smile off her face. Verity explains this to Ros as the reason she was having an early night.
Yes. Verity comes up with a creative solution for her problem by taking each party aside and asking them some questions.
sex industry. Verity works this out after taking each party aside and this is the base of finding an agreement before 15 days.
the east side. One of the parties wanted to try the east side describing them as more upper class, feely and touchy.
30 minutes. One of the parties wanted 45 minutes for each session while the other wanted 20 minutes. I'm glad that they came to an agreement!
her shoes. Prue notices that Verity in her early intentions to "wipe the smile of Prue's face" forgot to wear matching shoes.
Yes. Ros certainly did win her case although it certainly seemed that she hadn't. It was also astonishing that all members of the jury found the defendant guilty. Congratulations Ros and I look forward to more success out of your career!
Two. This is the first scene that we see during this episode and is where Ros and Verity's aunts are cooking them dinner.
Sandra's reflection in the mirror. While Ros is looking at the samovar you sees Sandra's reflection in the mirror. Ros then screams as she quickly turns around to find both Sandra and David standing in the doorway. Sandra asks her how she got in because she thought it was a burglar. Ros mentions that she let herself in while showing them a key.
A spider. Ros describes Sandra as a spider when she comes home with some things from her room. She didn't really need them but took them because Sandra was going to throw them out of burn them.
three or four thousand dollars. This infuriated Ros because she didn't want it sold and said they have no right to sell it at auction. Sandra seemed to want to keep this because of how much Ros and her aunties wanted it.
What was Ros referring to when she said "That's just like Dad's, Mum gave it to him when he became a judge"? | The Samovar, "Marshall Law"

A pen. Ros said this when Frank pulled out her father's pen to correct a typo in his speech. Frank seemed to think that it would be better if Ros had it. Ros said that it wrote beautifully and Frank didn't seem to want to part with this pen in which he found when cleaning Joe's old chambers.
126.5 kph. Dylan asks to verify this with the police officer during the case in which Gavin was supposedly speeding. They found out that Gavin was in only caught on the radar device for 2.4 seconds which meant that Gavin was unable to be convicted.
at least 3 seconds. Dylan used this to win the case for Gavin because there is a minimum time in which a radar device must be held on a speeding vehicle and Gavin was only caught for 2.4 seconds exactly. Smart man Dylan!
