Rurouni Kenshin
Misanagi. Heh, give away.
Udo Jineh. Kenshin also called Shogo's technique 'Shin no Ippou' when he first heard of it from Aoshi, but he was mistaken.
Ryu Tsui Sen. Even Yahiko used it!
Makimachi. 'Makimachi Misao does not give out her name to just anyone!'
When Takeda was shooting the gatling gun at them, how many seconds did Kenshin say he needed to recover his sword? | 'Ruroni Kenshin' Quiz
|
May 14. Kaoru mentioned this when she saw the calendar. (Anime only, AFAIK this scene was not seen in the manga.)
Nabiki. Two out of three of Shinta's sisters are also the names of characters from Ranma 1/2. Nabiki is also a character in Ranma 1/2.
Travels the world. A short manga shows a reunion of the gang. Aoshi, Misao, Yahiko, Tsubame, Kaoru, Kenshin, and Megumi show up. Saitou is elsewhere, but Aoshi reports that he's "doing fine", and they receive a letter from Sano telling of his travels around the world.
Tuberculosis. Kenshin's death is sad. It's from an OAV called "Seisou Hen". Another war brews, and Kenshin leaves for it, telling Kaoru that when he comes back, he wants to be known as "Shinta", which was his birth name. When he returns home, he's greeted happily by Kaoru, but his disease has gotten worse and he dies in Kaoru's arms. A sad part before this is when Kenshin is in America and is too weak to get home on his own. Sanosuke shows up and escorts his ailing friend to the boat.
Kenji. Kenji looks just like a mini-Kenshin. He loves pulling Kenshin's hair and climbing up on the roof (then he realizes he can't get back down). He doesn't really like his dad, who also refuses to teach his sword style to Kenji. Kenji does, however, inherit the sakabatou.
What finally convinced Kenshin to hand over his money to Misao when they met on the way to Kyoto? | "Rurouni Kenshin" Trivia
|
She took his sword. Kenshin wanted to keep what little money he had. He bluffed and told her she could have his sword instead, acting like he didn't care about it much. She called his bluff and took it, and Kenshin frantically handed her his money. A really cute scene ensues where Kenshin hugs his sword like a well-loved pet.
He's often mistaken for a girl. A funny scene shows Yahiko comparing Misao and Kaoru to Kamatari... then they find out she's really a he.
When Kenshin started openly fighting the Shinsengumi. Shishio Makoto's work was done in the shadows, while Kenshin worked against the Shinsengumi out in the open. Because of this, Kenshin never even knew Shishio existed until much later. When the revolution was over, some of Shishio's missions were so bad that just mentioning them could bring the Meiji government to its knees. To prevent Shishio from using this knowledge to hold the government under his thumb, they had him shot and burned to death. But Shishio survived the fire and lived to try and get revenge.
Kamiya Kaoru wields a bokken rather than a real sword. As her student, does Myojin Yahiko do the same? | "Rurouni Kenshin" Trivia
|
No. Yahiko is still an apprentice, and therefore uses a kendo stick instead of a true bokken (wooden sword). A kendo stick is a rounded stick with a blunt metal tip. This weapon is more commonly referred to in "Rurouni Kenshin" as a shinai.
Yes. Even Ayame and Suzume, who don't appear in the original manga by Watsuki Nobuhiro, merit an image song. It is called 'Shiroi Ichigo.'
There are 'image songs' for many, if not all, of the characters in "Rurouni Kenshin". What is one of Sanosuke's image songs titled? | "Rurouni Kenshin" Music
|
Ippatsu Yarou!. 'Ippatsu Yarou!' and 'Kokoro no Hadaka' are image songs for Sanosuke. 'Journey' is one of Soujiro's, 'Sekai-bun no Ichi no Boku' is Yahiko's, and 'Ai Suru Hito o Mamoru Tame ni' is Kenshin's of course.
0. Hayashibara Megumi has done some anime songs, but none for "Kenshin". She probably never will do a song for this show, as no new episodes are being produced in Japan.
Another line from 'Kimi ni Fureru Dake De' - what goes in this blank?
"Yarusenai koto mo nai Zutto hateshinai ___ no ai." | "Rurouni Kenshin" Music
|
boku. "It isn't miserable, either, it's my always unending love." Keyword is 'my.' 'Anata,' you, would make it 'your love.' 'Watashitachi,' we, would make it 'our love.' 'Watashi' would end up saying 'my love,' but the person singing this song is a man, and in Japanese, the first person for men is 'boku,' not 'watashi.'
kokoro. It translates to "Ah - every time I touch you, my heart pounds." 'Mune' is a more physical heart than one that would pound because of love. 'Karada' is body, and it doesn't make much sense for your 'koe,' voice, to pound, does it?
L'arc~en~Ciel has performed two songs for "Kenshin", one of which was 'Niji', the opening song to the movie. What was the other song? | "Rurouni Kenshin" Music
|
The Fourth Avenue Cafe. I've never heard 'Ashita no Kakera,' though it is a "Kenshin" song, I know that. I'm not sure who performed 'Kimi ni Fureru Dake De', and 'Fukai Mori' isn't even a "Kenshin" song! It is the second ending song for "Inuyasha," performed by 'Do As Infinity'.
Yes. The other fraction song is called "1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou." The song translates to '1/3 True Feelings'. '1/3' is pronounced 'sanbun,' sort of like in '1/2'.
The second opening song for "Kenshin" is '1/2'. How should this name be pronounced in Japanese? | "Rurouni Kenshin" Music
|
hanbun. It is Japanese, after all. They wouldn't say 'one half.' ^_^
Judy and Mary. Kawamoto Makoto performed '1/2'. As far as I know, Hayashibara Megumi and Do As Infinity have performed songs for anime, but never "Rurouni Kenshin."
A left handed forward thrust of the sword. The "quick draw" is the Battou Justsu, the slash that sprouts flames is Shishio's move, and the Fist Strike is the Futai No key Wama, Sanoske and Monk Anji's move.
Ryuu Tsui Sen. Ryuu Sou Sen is many strikes (like Kenshin used on Sanoske), Kuzzu Ryuu Sen is one of the ultimate attacks of the Hiten Mitserugi style that includes 9 strikes to the body at once, and Battou Jutsu is attacking while drawing the sword.
Kurogasa. Battousai is Kenshin, Leader is how the Oni Wabanshuu refers to Aoshi, and I just made up Masayko.
Has the blade on the opposite side. Kenshin's sword, the Sabakou, is a "reverse blade sword", for exactly that reason.
How many times from the beginning of the TV series to Shishio's defeat is the ultimate attack of the Hiten Mitserugi Style used? | Simple "Rurouni Kenshin" TV Quiz
|
4 . First Kenshin used the Ama kakeru ryuu no hirameki on Hiko Seijuuro, second, he used it on Aoshi Shinimori, third, he used it on Soujiro Seta, and finally he used it on Makoto Shishio.
