Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Ace Combat
Larry 'Solo Wing Pixy' Foulke. Solo Wing Pixy is your wingman, the name coming from a battle where his right wing was blown off, hence why it is always painted red (though where the 'Pixy' part came from eludes me). The other characters are from 'Ace Combat 5: Squadron Leader' (a.k.a 'The Unsung War' in the U.S).
1995. The game takes place during 1995, ending on 31 December with the final battles. 'Ace Combat 5' takes place during 2010, and hints briefly at events that took place during the Belkan War.
Crow Team. Later in the game, after the air-battle (and subsequent nuclear blasts) in the Waldreich Mountains, PJ takes the role of Galm 2 after Pixy betrays Cipher (Galm 1). We first see him in the 'Sword of Annihilation' mission. Eagle-Eye is the Boeing E-3D (Sentry)'s codename. I seriously doubt anyone would call themselves 'The Canary Team'.
Patrick James. He informs Galm 1 of this tidbit of information in the 'Lying in Deceit' mission, as well as the fact he likes to play Polo - "You know, the game with the horses... Maybe we should get going now". Classic.
Christmas Day. The final set of missions take place on New Year's Eve. 'Talon of Ruin' sees you take on the enormous XB-0 gunship. Try looking over your shoulder in the cockpit view, and you will see the definition of 'intimidating'!
Mercenary, Soldier and Knight. Medals are awarded for finishing in each of the three styles. If a player finishes at the extreme end of the Ace Style bar (Mercenary or Knight), or smack in the middle (above the D in Soldier), then a 'Supreme' medal is awarded for that style. As a side note, Squadron Leader, Wing Commander and Group Captain are all Officer ranks in the Royal Air Force.
XB-0 Hresvelgr. The ADFX-01 Morgan is the aircraft Pixy uses against you in the final mission. The Scinfaxi and Hrimfaxi are submarines in 'Ace Combat 5: Squadron Leader'. VTOL stands for Vertical Take-off and Landing, and FAEB stands for Fuel Air Explosive Bomb, a ground attack weapon available with some aircraft. We hear Espada 1 refer to the XB-0 as the 'Hresvelgr' during the mission.
It isn't known. Though it isn't known whether PJ ever survived to propose to his girlfriend, during the ending sequence, we see part of an aircraft next to the Avalon Dam with flowers laid next to it. Though it is never revealed whether PJ lived or died after being shot by Pixy, this could be a subtle hint as to his fate. When he does get hit, however, we see breaking canopy glass, so he may have ejected in time.
Thanks for playing, hope you got a good score, please take the few seconds needed to rate the quiz to let me know how good it is!
Dance with the Angels. This becomes a resistance motto after the invasion of Emmeria. Sheltering Wings of The Protector is seen on loading scenes in "Ace Combat 4", and 'Solo Wing Pixy' is heard to say 'You Still Alive?' several times during "Ace Combat 0". No one says 'Go pee up a rope', by the way...
Garuda. Gavial, Sky Kid and Marigold are all other units (land, air & sea) that you support throughout various missions. There are others too numerous to mention here.
Strigon. Yellow Squadron featured in "Ace Combat 4", Ofnir in "Ace Combat 5", and the Silber team appeared in "Ace Combat 0". The Strigon team's aircraft is the Sukhoi-33 Flanker-D.
Psycho Killing Spree. These options are only available on Xbox live, and there is also a Team Battle option. It's not one for the faint of heart, though you can test your mettle against other players around the world.
Emmeria. Osea & Yuktobania famously fought in "Ace Combat 5: Squadron Leader", while the history of Belka is well known from "Ace Combat 0". If they keep this up, soon every country in the world will have had a war!
Gracemeria. I hope you noticed all wrong answers are the capitals of the previous question's wrong answers. They are: Oured - Osea, Cinigrad - Yuktobania, and Dinsmark - Belka.
Estovakia. The Estovians - or 'Stovies' as they are called throughout the game, launch an offensive at the exact same moment they declare war on Emmeria. They are eventually driven out of Emmeria.
Shamrock. Yellow 4 flew as Yellow 13's wingman (or wingwoman, to be politically correct). Mobius 1 was the main character from "Ace Combat 4", and Solo Wing Pixy flew alongside Cipher in "Ace Combat 0".
Khesed Island. Sand Island is the main base of operations in "Ace Combat 5". Twinkle Islands is the home to the giant fortress Megalith in "Ace Combat 4", and Kirwin Island played host to the aircraft carrier 'Kestrel' for most of "Ace Combat 5".
14. There is a fifteenth plane, the fictional CFA-44 Nosferatu, similar to the 'Morgan' used by Solo Wing Pixy in "Ace Combat 0". It has some VERY nasty weaponry (Try using the Electromagentic Laser!). You can buy it after completing the game on Hard mode.
Aigaion. All have featured in other "Ace Combat" games, and the Scinfaxi was a giant submarine, not aircraft. Still took ages to destroy it though...
Lt. Col. Victor Voychek. McKnight is a tank commander in the game. Pasternak is the new leader of the Strigon team, and Beagle, a.k.a 'Pops', flies in "Ace Combat 5".
The Chandelier. Megalith and Stonehenge both appeared in "Ace Combat 4", while the S.O.L.G (Strategic Orbital Linear Gun) was destroyed in "Ace Combat 5" before it hit Osea's capital, Oured. The Chandelier yet again requires flying inside - not an easy task.
No. Those pesky Estovakians! They only have to go and launch seven waves of cruise missiles at the city. Have they no consideration for people having a good party?!
