Advance Wars
What are Sturm's attack and defense percentages? | Advance Wars
|
%130 attack, %80 defense. %120 attack/defense are Kanbei's percentages. The %100 attack/defense are Andy's percentages, and the %150 attack/defense belongs to nobody.
What must you do in order to unlock the extra mission Rivals? | Advance Wars
|
Beat all Green Earth missions with Sami. Beating all Green Earth missions with Sami also unlocks Eagle as a CO in the final battle against Sturm. Beating all of the Green Earth missions with Andy unlocks Drake as a CO in the final battle, but no extra fight.
What is the only Campaign Mode mission where the enemy CO cannot use their power? | Advance Wars
|
Enigma. In Enigma, Sturm cannot use his power. Special Intel isn't a campaign mission. In the other two, the enemy can use their power.
What country is the first to be attacked by the fake Andy? | Advance Wars
|
Green Earth. This is mentioned by Sonja after one of the Green Earth missions. This is before you find out about fake Andy though.
Increases movement and attack of infantry and mechs. Sami's movement increase can be very good if the enemy HQ is only a little bit further than you can travel, and you need to get there quickly. The only other real one is faster capturing, further movement, and increased firepower, but that is her Super CO Power (AW2).
Who was the one tricked into invading Orange Star? | Advance Wars
|
Olaf. This is evident because the entire Field Training area is fighting off Olaf's invading forces. It is also mentioned by Sonja late in the game.
Enhanced Vision. The pain about her power is the fact that it allows her to see into forests! Combine that with her already increased vision, and she becomes a dangerous foe!
How many different battles against Drake are there? (Every fight for every CO) | Advance Wars
|
Nine. You fight him three times, with three different paths to choose from, for a total of nine battles. Each battle is a different area, each suiting the CO's abilities.
How many units does Sturm have at the beginning of Enigma? | Advance Wars
|
21. He has 2 Infantry, 2 Mechs, 1 Recon, 1 Tank, 1 Anti-Air, 2 Missiles, 1 Rocket, 2 Medium Tanks, 2 Submarines, 2 Battleships, 1 Transport Copter, 3 Fighters, and 1 Bomber! A pretty tough fight for a first time through!
22000. Bombers are very useful, especially for factory missions in campaign. They are well worth the money, although ammo and fuel can run out quickly.
Thirty. War Rooms are very difficult to beat. The AI opponent has a massive advantage over you. Did you know that you face every CO at least once in War Room?
137. The largest category is War Room maps. The maps are divided among Pre-Deployed, War Room, 3-Player, 4-Player, Classic, Vs., and player-made maps, which I didn't count in the tally (since they are based on player creations which vary from game to game).
Hachi. Hachi used to be the leader of Orange Star. If you beat Hard Campaign, he decides to rejoin the battles and you can buy him (from himself).
34/25. Lab missions are optional. You also only have to beat five out of a country's other seven missions, with the exception of Orange Star, which you have to beat all eight of.
Eagle. Although the fight against Sturm is called "The Final Battle", it isn't. There is another secret mission after that, where Andy (you) fights Eagle.
Black Hole. Black Hole is responsible for all the trouble. The other armies don't exist.
Four. As well as his two main missions Andy must complete the Black Hole Lab mission and he also appears in one of Olaf's missions. Most of the others are either two or three.
Kanbei. Since it's a Yellow Comet mission the only choice is Kanbei. The mission involves dashing to an island in the center with several silos on it.
5HP. A Black Bomb can be devastating. It can't destroy a unit by itself though, so if a unit has less than 6HP then its HP is reduced to 1.
Brainstorm. Shaky Alliance is Andy and Hawke and Earth and Sky is Eagle and Sami. Code of Honour is Kanbei and Javier.
Seaports. Only land and air units can pass over bases. Beaches are for land, air and Lander/Black Boat units. Only air and foot soldiers can pass over rivers.
Olaf, Kanbei, Drake, Andy. After destroying the first Large Obelisk you'll face four missions, in which you'll have to face one of these clones in each. Drake's in probably the hardest, as the Fog of War can really slow you down.
3 Infantry, 1 APC. Andy has three infantry units and one APC against Flak's two infantry. Disturbingly easy, but it is a tutorial level. Essentially, Nell tells you what to do the entire time.
In the Lab Map Mission of Orange Star (where you get NeoTanks), Flak has hidden three units under the Fog of War at the beginning of the mission. He does not move them ever again. What are they? | "Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising"
|
1 Lander, 1 Artillery, 1 Rocket. There's a lander in the reef, a rocket hidden in the woods near the lab, and 1 artillery hidden in the woods at the top. Sami tells you about the indirects, but not about the lander. To beat the level by routing all enemy forces, you need to destroy the lander. I didn't notice it the first time...
This level is the first in which the Allied Nations fight against a fortress. To defeat the fortress, all the Minicannons must be destroyed first. What is the name of the level? | "Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising"

Show Stopper. In Show Stopper, you play as Sonja in Fog of War, absolutely perfect for her. Adder is the Black Hole CO and he really just sends everything after you in one wave. If you can destroy the first wave, then capture all the bases and ports, Adder essentially has no more units to attack you with. Every time I play, though, he just slips a Rocket into the woods and holds two B-Copters and an Artillery back for later in the fight (which Md Tanks and Anti-Air usually crush). There's a lap map in this mission, but you'll have to find it yourself.
You can use Sensei in all of these. (You can use a navy in all of these., There are missile silos to use., There is Fog of War.). Foul Play has no water at all, on the entire map, in no location. Thus, no navy. The Factory levels (The Hunt's End) never have Fog of War. Only Foul Play has missile silos.
Sensei's got to be my favorite CO, because his best units are cheaper than most other units. B-copters cost only 9000g, while Md Tanks cost 16000g, Bombers are 22000g, etc. They're also only slightly more expensive than Tanks (7000g) and Anti-Air (8000g). Plus his CO Power and Super CO Power drop dozens of infantry/mechs on the field and power his copters up to 175% attack power. WOW! As a side note, Sensei's COP and SCOP (normal and super, respectively) both work in Pre-Deployed mode.
Great Sea Battle . Here, you get one Green Earth CO, one Yellow Comet CO, and one Orange Star CO. Unfortunately, no Grit, no Olaf, no Colin. I suppose Grit could be really cheap and use Super Snipe, to, well, snipe open the pipe seam. Olaf's Blizzard and Winter Fury are just painful, and not to mention rather cheap (Olaf+Drake=4hp damage on Super CO Powers, unless Hawke uses Black Storm). Colin, obviously, is a terrible CO, unless you've got funds, and you need a lot of funds to access Power of Money (effectively-honestly, you could access it whenever you want, but that wouldn't really have much effect). Personally, my favorites for this mission are Eagle (Lightning Strike, duh!), Kanbei (super powerful), and Andy (only CO able to counteract Hawke's COP and SCOP, plus equal units, unlike Sami and Max)
Strong Land. Duo Falls is against Max. Missile Plains is against Sturm (and a huge pre-deployed army of NeoTanks). The Trident is against Nell. I find Sami and her Super CO Power very useful in winning...
OMG! The enemy CO just started deploying troops from his cities! HAX! HAX! Oh jeez, he's just deployed two NeoTanks for the price of one! RUN AWAY! Who is this guy!?!? | "Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising"
|
Hachi. Hachi is honestly the cheapest CO in the game, past, present, and future. He pays only 90 percent of the cost normally, his CO Power, Barter, cuts unit cost in half, and his Super CO Power, Merchant Union, cuts unit cost in half AND allows units to be deployed from ANY allied property. NeoTank Rush! Plus, his CO Powers take a really short time to charge, actually less than Colin. But seriously, if you want to be liked, don't use him.
He's so cheap, and I quote from AdvanceWars.net, "In fact, if you use Hachi at all against a human, you may as well just poke them in the eye and snap their GBA in half, that's how mean you are."
Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, the SCOP also works in Pre-Deployed mode as well, so you can break the rules.
Five. The total CO number at the beginning of the game is four, but you do have the option to not have a CO during a map. The four starting COs are Captain Brenner, Lieutenant Lin, Wil, and Isabella. All four of them belong to the "Brenner's Wolves" faction.
Five. The new units are the Duster, Bike, Flare, Seaplane, and Gunboat. The Duster is a new air unit that cost 13,000 and can fire on copters, air, and ground units. The Bike is an infantry unit with a move type of Tire A, a cost of 2500, and can attack ground and copter units. The Flare can either attack with a machine gun, or use its ranged attack, which actually only reveals 13 squares of fog of war. Seaplanes are produced by Carriers at a cost of 15,000 and can attack any unit. Gunboats are now the cheapest sea unit at a price tag of 6,000. They only have the ability to attack one sea unit, before being resupplied, and can carry one Infantry or Mech.
