Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Brothers in Arms
Joe Hartsock. You are Corporal Hartsock, and later you become a Sergeant. You play as Baker in the first game, Hassay is your platoon sergeant and Doyle is a corporal.
St. Martin. In "Action at St. Martin," you are told to go and secure the church and once you get there you have to defend it from oncoming Germans. You get a machine gun, so that makes it a lot easier.
Chateau Colombieres. At the beginning of Chateau Colombieres you have only Allen and Garnett with you. It tells you that Allen died that day and Garnett the next day. This makes the mission quite difficult because of heavy fire and minimal assistance.
Stick grenade. You can clearly see Germans throwing their famed Stielhandgranate's at you, while you have the traditional Mk 2, "pineapple" model. Grenades are helpful for driving enemies out of hiding places. In multiplayer however they have the same function, just different shape.
Assault . Your Fire Team has suppressing weaposns uch as rifles and stuff while your Assault Team is used for rushing and they more commonly have machine guns but either can be used for each other's tasks. You also get command of a tank later in the game a few times.
All of these (Other tanks, Panzerfausts, Grenades). If you have a tank, use it to kill other tanks. Otherwise, you need Panzerfausts, which are handheld rocket launchers that you use to kill them from a distance. You can also jump on them and drop a grenade it but it's very uneffective and you most often get killed trying to do this.
Red. His fellow soldiers mostly often call him "Red" because of his hair colour. Hartsock has very distinguishing scars on his face from a bar fight.
Mac. Your platoon sergeant is the only one still alive when you get there, besides your team of course. You have to help him keep the Germans at bay until Baker shows up with a tank.
Mortar fire. Hartsock gets promoted to Sergeant in Eviction Notice, of equal rank to Baker. If you stand still to long in this mission you get hit with mortar shells.
S.L.A Marshall. Marshall was a chief U.S Army combat historian who wrote many books. He asks Hartsock to recall his expieriances. Thanks for playing!
Matt Baker. Matt Baker is the character you play as in this game and "Road to Hill 30". Red Heartsock is your character in "Earned in Blood", and a character in the other two. Richard Winters is the leader from "Band of Brothers" and Sam Corrion is another soldier in your unit.
"those you raise Hell with.". This is what Baker's father always told him. It is a constant statement throughout all three games. It also creates a lot of stress in Baker's life, because he takes the death of any of his men personally.
His father never told him the answer.. The question was: "What makes a good soldier, his brain or his heart?" His father never told him the answer. He has been trying to find the answer ever since.
Two queen of spades. Friar discovers this during the argument in the tent. The fight is not about Paddock cheating, but about his racist remarks. Friar tells him that "Next time, if you're gonna cheat, don't use two queen of spades."
Zebra. Zebra is the name of Red's squad's Jeep. The other Jeeps are Toucan, Swordfish, and Cheetah. Wolf was not one of the names in the game.
Legget. Legget was killed in "Hill 30" after he thought Baker had died. Baker also sees the ghost of a little boy he saved later in the game after the boy is killed. Allen and Garnett are also killed, but Baker does not see them.
Five. Shooting the bottles in the correct order will unlock a special squad, but other than that the bottles are just target practice. They serve no purpose in the game.
Dawson. Dawson is not American, he is from England. The game explains that he saw Legget before he died, but not how he got into the squad. Baker is not new and Holden is an American.
Put a hole in Superman. Garnett claims that nothing could put a hole in Superman. Legget responds that "that thing could". Both Allen and Garnett touched the pistol, and later both died, as does everyone else who uses it except for Baker.
"Brothers in arms". To Matthew - Brothers in Arms.
This was engraved by Matthew's father long before the war. Matt could not keep the pistol, so his father kept it. Then, it made its way to the other characters after Baker's father died holding it.
A dead girl. When you recon the area you see her being dragged into the barn by the Germans. It never tells you anything about her or why she is dead.
Yes. During the game "Earned in Blood", Red has his left ring finger shot off. This is odd because he is the only member of the unit who is married.
Three. Sam has not been promoted in the game. Both Baker and Red are promoted in earlier games. They both have the same amount of experience an Sam, but he is repeatedly left behind.
Thompson and M-1 Garand. You start the mission out with an M-1 Carbine and a B.A.R. If you look next to the Jeep at the very start you can trade them for a Thompson and an M-1 Garand.
Lt.Col. Cole. Lt. Col. Cole is the commanding officer, and real-life person, who is killed. Lt. Winters is the leader, and also a real person, from "Band of Brothers". Capt. Miller is the Tom Hanks' character from "Saving Private Ryan" and Lt. Powell is the character you play as in "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault".
Fate. Dawson has an odd obsession with fate. He is starting to get other members of the squad angry at him because he won't stop talking about it.
A priest. The priest has his legs blown off, and later dies. Cpl. Corrion yells at Franky because he is trying to comfort the dying man instead of pulling back.
A girl. Franky meets a girl in a white dress. It never gives her name, but Franky falls in love with her instantly.
Cpl. Corrion. Cpl. Corrion pulls Franky away from the girl. He needs Franky to stop kissing her and keep moving.
A dutch boy. The young boy is the son of the Dutch man you meet in the first mission. He kills a German in an apartment and then almost shoots Baker.
Hell. If you blow up the gas station, the letters are blown off the sign. The leftover letters spell out the word "Hell". They only spell this if you blow it up. If you don't, it doesn't say anything important.
