Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information

    Caverns of Hammerfest

"The Caverns of Hammerfest" contains many enemies. What are they based on?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

Fruits and vegetables. All of the enemies you will encounter on your quest are fruits that have been bewitched to go after Igor. They were enchanted by Tuber, who also stole Igor's Carrot.

How do you defeat enemies?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

Using bombs to push them into the void. The most common way to kill enemies is to use Igor's bombs to push them into the void. When a bomb detonates, it will freeze the enemies around it and push them away. If you can push them off the bottom, they'll die. Another way to kill enemies is by grabbing certain items, which can help you finish the level. The Fireball can only hurt Igor, and there are no stone blocks in the game.

What will happen if you take too long on a level?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

The Fireball will come. After a certain amount of time, you will receive a warning. If you don't finish the level before the next warning, the Fireball will appear. If you touch it, you will die. The Fireball follows you around, and speeds up the more time you take. Luckily, it cannot turn sharply, so there is a possibility you can survive. If you die, the timer will reset.

At certain points in your adventure, a giant crystal will fall from the sky after you complete a level. They are worth massive amounts of points. What causes this?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

Killing the enemies in the correct order. The giant crystals fall because you kill the enemies in a correct order. This can be very difficult to do because they are often placed in near impossible orders, or because an enemy that has been frozen can kill another enemy it hits, if it is traveling fast enough.

Throughout the course of your adventure, you will run into different weapons. How do you tell what weapon Igor is currently using?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

The colour of his scarf will change. The simplest way to tell what weapon you're currently using is a quick glance to Igor's scarf. Of course, you could also test by firing it!

The majority of the weapons Igor will find in his adventures can be obtained by running into these. What are they?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

beams of light. To change weapons, you must run into those beams of light that are strategically placed throughout the game. However, some weapons can only be obtained by grabbing certain items that will appear. When Igor grabs one weapon, his old one disappears.

How many items will appear on a normal level?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

Two. Two items will appear in each normal level. Sadly, if you kill all the enemies on a level, any items that have not yet appeared never will. If you have the One Ring powerup, then three will appear on a normal level.

When playing, you're bound to notice some letters appearing. What letters are they?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

RSTLICA. The letters spell out CRISTAL when rearranged. If you can gather all the letters, you will get a free life, and all the enemies on your screen will die. Then, you begin hunting for the letters all over again. If you get them in order, you will receive a bonus of 150000 points.

Many levels will contain mysterious objects that glow when you approach. They look like an energy beam connected between two sockets. What do they do if you run into them?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Basic Rules

Teleport Igor from one to the other. These mysterious devices are teleporters - when you walk into one end, you will magically appear out of the other! You can also kick bombs through one end, and they will appear out the other.

Which of the sweets gives the most points when picked up?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Orange Sweet. The Orange Sweet gives 5000 points, which is the most out of any sweet. The Pink Sweet gives 2500. The Blue Sweet and Pink Sweet give small amounts. There is also a Green Sweet, which gives even less than the Purple Sweet.

After you finish the quest "Find the secret golden coins!", some new gems will appear. How many points does a Tiger's Eye give you? Tiger's Eye is the red gem."The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

5000. The three items unlocked from that quest are the red Tiger's Eye that gives 5000 points, the green Jade that is worth 15000, and the purple Reflecting Moonlight that awards 25000 points! They are used to complete the "Master Jeweler" quest, which unlocks the new weapons.

During your adventure, you will encounter fish. They come in three different colours. What do they do?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Cause five crystals of their colour to fall from the sky. The fish is an interesting item that will cause five crystals of their colour to fall from the sky. If you get one after you have killed all the enemies, they will appear on the next level. With the red and yellow fish, these really add up in points!

You grab a Silver Trophy. The background changes colour, and something else happens. What is it?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

All the enemies become stunned. The Silver Trophy will change the background to a star and stun all enemies. The Golden Statue of Igor will give you another life.

An item appears on top of Igor, and flames shoot from both directions. What item did you just pick up?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Dragon Head. The mysterious item is a Dragon Head, which is also featured in Learning mode. The Crystal Ball, Stereo and Ying-Yang can all kill enemies, but none use flames.

You come across an interesting pair of glasses and decide to pick them up. Bad idea! You have entered a mirror world where left is right, and right is left. What colour glasses have you just picked up?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Blue. You have picked up the Blue Glasses - with luck you can still beat the level. The Red Glasses flip it from top to bottom, and there is no such thing as yellow or green glasses.

You run into a Red Umbrella, and you appear in a different level! Which one is it?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

The next level. In total, there are three different umbrellas; Red, Blue and Green. Each will teleport you to a later level. The red will send you to the next level, the blue will send you to the one after the red, and the green will send you to the one after the blue. If using an umbrella will skip a boss level, it will stop there so you can complete it.

What does the Lamp do?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Allows Igor to lay one more bomb than his original maximum. The Lamp is a powerup. Like all other powerups, they will remain in effect until you die. The Bicycle Helmet allows you to kick bombs further, and the running shoes increases your running speed.

When you have the pink Violin Hat, what happens?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Any bombs you kick are duplicated. The Violin Hat is a rare powerup that makes any bomb you kick duplicate. The duplicate is fired behind you. This will also split the bombs from pears, so be careful!

When you grab the Treasure Chest, how many crystals will fly out?"The Caverns of Hammerfest": Items

Five. The Treasure Chest is a relatively common item that causes five crystals to fly out. They are determined randomly, and range from blue to yellow.
