18. Fortunately, you can get multiple epilogues every time the game is completed, depending on the actions and fate of each of the main characters. If you have the option to save your progress turned on, you will see the titles of the epilogues you have unlocked in the Chapter Select screen once the credits are finished.
In a 2009 interview, writer/director David Cage stated that he would like people to play the game only once, because, like life, you make decisions and have to live with them. However, many players will try to see all the endings of the game, especially to get the "All Endings" trophy.

207. Room 207 is on the third floor of the motel, at least by US standards. The game was developed by the French studio Quantic Dream, and this is one of the many places where the European design shows through. Despite being in a US city, the motel numbers the floors according to the European tradition of ground floor, then first, then second, instead of first, second, third.

Gordi Kramer. Gordi is a copycat, who killed Joseph Brown in an imitation of the Origami Killer. His wealthy father, Charles, bribed the police and Gordi got away with murder.

The Blue Lagoon. If Madison gets to the nightclub, there is a scene where she is forced to strip at gunpoint, which is close enough to rape (or at least attempted rape) for some critics. However, the emotional state of the character is such that the player knows the kind of danger she is in, and as a result the scene is more dramatic than one where the character may "only" die.

Norman Jayden. Norman's Triptocaine addiction makes for some interesting gameplay sections, as the screen blurs and tilts when he experiences withdrawal symptoms.
Norman conducts investigations using a futuristic Added Reality Interface, or ARI, which is composed of glasses and a glove. This makes it possible to find and review clues in an augmented virtual reality.

Madison Paige. Madison was the only one of the four playable characters who was performed by multiple actors. She was played (full body motion capture) by Jacqui Ainsley, a British model, however her dialogue and facial motion capture work was done by Judi Beecher, an American actress.
hit by a car. Jason wanders off from his father in a crowded shopping center. His father frantically searches for him, only to find him on the other side of a street. Jason rushes to reunite with his father and is hit by a car.
This chapter in the game is the closest to the real life inspiration behind "Heavy Rain". Several years before the game was released, writer/director David Cage lost track of his son Quentin for a few minutes in a crowded shopping mall. Quentin was found safe, but those few minutes of terror are the origin of the game.
Shaun Mars is the boy abducted by the Origami Killer during the game.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The game may avoid the well known landmarks, but there are clues, such as the arrivals and departures board in the train station scenes, that make it clear that the game takes place in Philadelphia.
However, it does not rain nearly as much in the real Philadelphia as it does in the one in the game.
Philadelphia was chosen because writer/director David Cage liked the films of M. Night Shyamalan, who often films in and around that city.
Scott Shelby. Scott was the kid who lost his brother. He wanted to see what the fathers of the victims would do to save their children. In a poll, Carter Blake was voted most likely to be Origami Killer because he always seemed a bit unstable. Grace Mars was number two because people thought that she may have been holding a vendetta against Ethan for losing Jason in a car accident.

To test the fathers. The Origami Killer had an abusive father. When he was young his brother got trapped in a pipe filled with water. The young killer went to his father to help, but he ignored him. His brother ended up drowning. This is where the killer got his inspiration to put the children in a well that was slowly filling with water until they finally drowned.

swan. The swan is the sign that it was the Origami Killer who killed the child. All of the Origami Killer's victims were young boys.
Lauren Winter. Lauren was a mother of one of the Origami Killer's victims. Scott saved her once and later she agreed to help him. Scott Shelby was a private investigator.

a golden watch. When Norman Jayden went to the police station, he found out that the watch was rewarded to honored policemen. When Ethan Mars got into a fight with the masked Origami Killer, you may have noticed he was wearing a gold watch. This meant that the killer was a former cop.

orchid. It was revealed that this symbolized the killings as not being personal. This meant that the Origami Killer didn't have a vendetta against the children.
Drug withrawal. In the game, Norman sometimes takes out the drug and the player can decide whether or not he takes it. Norman is one of the four main characters of the game.
Blue. When investigating Mad Jack's garage, you will eventually find blue paint spilled on the ground, along with tire tracks from the car and orchid pollen in the air. This indicates that the Origami Killer has been to the garage.
Adrian Baker. Msdison Paige meets him when trying to find out who rented the apartment on Marple Street where one of the trials took place. He is one of the few characters that can kill a main character.

ARI is short for Added Reality Interface, and is not only used for investigation. As seen throughout the game, ARI can be used for fun and games too, and has many interesting aspects to it.
Johnny Winters. This is revealed when you interrogate Lauren Winter in the chapter "Sleazy Place". You will get more information about the disappearance of her son, if you choose the right options when meeting her.
Eight. Between the years 2009 and 2011, the Origami Killer murdered eight boys between the age of 9 and 13, all drowned. It is possible that Shaun Mars becomes victim number nine, if nobody comes to his rescue.
In the gun grip. Killing Brad is one of the tougher choices to make, seeing as he has two daughters himself, and he even shows you a picture of the both of them before you have to make your choice.
You will get a a bronze trophy for both of the choices, making this chapter one of the chapters you WILL have to replay to get the platinum trophy.
Eight. Norman Jayden can die four times in the chapter "Mad Jack", once in "Fish Tank", once in "Solving the Puzzle, once in "The Warehouse" and once in the epilogue "Smoking Mirrors".
That is more than Madison Paige (six), Ethan Mars (four) and Scott Shelby (four).
Ethan Mars - Scott Shelby - Norman Jayden - Madison Paige. You first meet Ethan Mars in the chapter "Prologue". Scott Shelby is introduced in "Sleazy Place". You meet Norman Jayden in the chapter "Crime Scene". Lastly, Madison Paige is introduced in "Sleepless Night".

Machete. What level in "Heavy Rain" evokes more tension than "The Lizard"? It really makes you question yourself about what you would do for love. There are many different items to use in this level. Besides the saw, pliers, and scissors Ethan can also cut his finger off using a knife or a hatchet. The machete is not an option.
Parents. Rain is always the way the Origami Killer's victims die, they drown in rain. The Origami Killer always lays origami and an orchid by his victims. After the victims die, the Origami Killer lays their body adjacent to a railroad. Both parents are not associated with the Origami Killer, only the father is.

Hurricane Amanda. During the final part of "Heavy Rain" when multiple topics are listed at the bottom of the screen Hurricane Amanda is mentioned. Besides the hurricane several other topics are mentioned as well. Next time you watch this scene in "Heavy Rain" you should read the bottom, instead of watching the anchorman.
Benjamin Hart. Leon Ockenden was Norman Jayden. Mike Powers and Aurelie Bancilhon were Carter Blake and Lauren Winters, respectively. Benjamin Hart was not included in "Heavy Rain".

Gordi Kramer. Scott can kill Madison in his apartment or in the final level. Charles Kramer can die if Scott chooses not to give him his medicine. Scott kills Manfred not matter what. Gordi is the only person Scott does not kill.
Carter Blake. Carter Blake is unable to kill Scott Shelby, the real Origami Killer, although he is able to kill Ethan. Madison is able to kill Scott if she saves Shaun alone. Norman is able to kill Scott on a giant conveyor belt. If Scott and Lauren are both still living at the end of the game Lauren will shoot Scott in the head.
