Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Red Faction
Jason Statham . Jason Statham does the voice work for Shrike. You may remember him from such movies movies as 'The Transporter', and 'The Italian Job'. Shrike is one of Alias' few friends in the game and does not turn against him. Shrike is the pilot and helps kill Molov in the final level.
Dancing With The Dead. On the mission 'Inside the Nano Base', you battle and kill Repta, 'Sopot's Citadel' is near the middle of the game and sees the death of Sopot. 'Hanging in the Hood' is a regular shooting level where you aid the Red Faction against Molov's forces, as he has taken over for Sopot.
Four. There are four endings. One entitled 'Glory Days', where your character is perfect and highly decorated, one called 'I Remember Sopot' where you are well decorated but not higly celebrated, one called 'On the Road Again' which is in between being a hero and a madman, and the final ending is called 'Judgement Day' where Alias is going to be executed for his crimes against humanity. Even, though the amount suggests that there are multiple quality endings, it is not true. Every single ending is the same except that there is a different narration for each. There is no cinematics to mark the end of the game, just still pictures.
Eleven. There are 11 levels in 'Red Faction 2'. 'Red Faction', on the other hand, has 64 levels, an intersting contrast indeed. The levels range from indoor cramped evironments, to full-blown outdoor battles. Even tedious rail-shooter levels have been added into the game.
Alias. Alias is the main characters name. He is a demolitions expert.
The other main characters names, who are unplayable, are Shrike, Tangier, Repta, Quill, and Molov.
Sopot. Sopot is the name of the chancellor of the commonwealth of Earth. Capek was the scientist who created the plague on Mars, in Red Faction. Colonel Mosako was the head of the mercenaries and the final enemy in Red Faction, and Griffin was the Deputy Administrator on Mars in Red Faction, as well.
Descent 4 . When the game first hit production, it was slated to be the fourth iteration of the "Descent" space-shooting game series. With some careful thinking and realizing the rather low sales of the game's previous incarnation, the production team at Volition decided to make a brand new game to complement the "Descent" style. Some things from "Descent" did find their way to "Red Faction". The most noteable was the virus in the game. The viruses in "Descent" and "Red Faction" seemed to have a lot of similarities. The virus was created in a lab, it was tested on unwilling subjects, and the result was always death or mutation.
Fifteen. The weapons in the game are: (1) Control baton (2) Riot Shield, can be used to whack enemies (3) 12MM Pistol (4) Submachine Gun (5) Automatic Shotgun (6) Assault Rifle (7) Sniper Rifle (8) Remote Charge (9) Grenade (10) Flame Thrower (11) Rocket Launcher (12) Rail Driver (13) Precision Rifle (14) Heavy Machine Gun (15) Fusion Rocket Launcher. There are two types of fixed gun emplacements, or turrets, and five vehicles to pilot. 'Red Faction 2' has four vehicles to pilot and eighteen weapons to use, excluding the double weapons and the multiplayer exclusive weapons.
Nanotech Shield. The envirosuit is what the miners and regular guards wear to both protect themselves from the harsh Mars conditions. The hazardous environment suit (HEV) is from 'Half-Life' and is in many ways similar to the envirosuit the miners on Mars wear.
Mosako. Colonel Mosako is the leader of the Mercenary army sent in to eliminate the miners and Ultor security guards. Eos is the leader of the 'Red Faction', Capek is one of the main figures for the Ultor Corporation who created the killer virus, and Hendrix is a security technician who wants to help the 'Red Faction'.
Miners. The 'Red Faction' is a miner revolution against the security guards of Mars. The scientists are neutral and will help anyone, and the executives just sit around like everything's alright, even though massive firefights are occurring under their noses.
Orion. Parker is only a probationary, though pinnacle member of the 'Red Faction', Hendrix is an Ultor security technician sympathetic to the 'Red Faction' cause, Eos is the leader of the 'Red Faction', and Orion is her right-hand man.
Ultor. The 'Trade Federation' is from 'Star Wars', 'Helghast' is from another game called, 'Killzone'. The 'Ultor Corporation' created a deadly virus to kill off its workers and to test its effects on humans.
Mars. Venus, and Neptune have nothing to do with the 'Red Faction 'world. Earth is the venue for the multiple conflicts in 'Red Faction 2'. Mars is the primary location for the game apart from the one mission where you are in space.
Geo Thermal Plant. Level 18 is Getting Out of Jail, while Destroying the Missle Battery is Level 14, and The Comm Center is Level 13. Level 5 is just inside the Red Faction Base. Thanks for taking my second ever quiz!
the largest bot. You don't even do any damage to it until later. A PC (no, that doesn't stand for personal computer), the worm, and sentries are heavily armored, but can be destroyed with diligent work.
Who is the half-cyborg who only cares first and foremost about his research? (Hint: Masako says he is crazy and the biggest SOB she's ever met.) | "Red Faction" for PC

Dr. Capek. At least Colonel Masako says he is. He's spent five years on Mars, researching.
THQ. Sega is known for shooters (House of the Dead), but it's THQ that really created it. Activision is most famous for Guitar Hero.
Capek's Inner Sanctum. Three of these levels are in a row-Chasing Capek, Capek's Zoo, and Capek's Inner Sanctum. Escorting Gryphon is Level 7.
Col. Masako. She is the head of the mercenaries. You must defeat her on level 19, the very last one.
their faces get puffy and swell up. Parker describes in the guide as to how they fall to the deadly plague. Hendrix's parents both died of it, his father on his kitchen floor and his mother in the mines.
Nineteen. Within the nineteen levels, there are anywhere from one to three stages within a level. On the final level, you have to defeat Col. Masako, after which it shows a cut-scene showing you freeing Eos and defusing the bomb that Masako set off.
You play as a miner on Mars who's had it up to here with Ultor, and are about to be allowed into Red Faction, the leaders of the rebellion. What is your name? | "Red Faction" for PC

Parker. Eos is the leader of Red Faction, and her, Orion, and Hendrix will send you messages frequently. Eos started Red Faction after her mom died "for no reason- just the planet's bad atmosphere".
A buffer. The Free Fire Zone is used as a buffer zone to keep any and all unwanted people on Mars away from Eos, the main EDF stronghold city. However, using information learned from Colonel Broga, the Red Faction is able to devise a way through the Zone using blindspots to confuse the tracking systems. Alec is the first to make it through using these blindspots, and is able to destroy the power cores powering the mortars, causing the Free Fire Zone to be a lot less deadly to the Red Faction members.
Broga. During his stay in the Badlands, Alec learns that the mastermind behind the Free Fire Zone, Colonel Broga, is in the area. The Red Faction then decides to capture and interrogate Broga, in the hopes that he will know a way through the Free Fire Zone without being blown to pieces.
It creates nanites. The Nano Forge creates small robots known as nanites. The nanites have the ability to disassemble any kind of molecule, whether it be part of a building, vehicle, or even a human. It is not conventional to use it by itself, so it is often used in conjunction with a rifle in order to fire the nanites at a target.
All of the Above (It has a highly irradiated zone., The marauders that kill everyone., The harsh, desert like climate.). The Badlands are a very difficult place to be in during the early stages of the game. During a mission in the Badlands, Alec follows a marauder vehicle into what looks like a rock cliff. It is, in fact, a hologram, which leads him through to an old over looking mining site. It is there that Alec finds the Nano Forge, which is vital to the Red Faction cause.
The ore mining operation. After liberating the first sector, Parker, Alec must then travel to Dust. By freeing Dust and destroying the ore processing units there, it would deal a huge blow to the income of the EDF. Unfortunately, the EDF doesn't want the Red Faction to use the town as a base, so they bomb it with long range mortars as they are pulling out. Alec must save key people, supplies, and data that is located withing the city before it is lost to the mortar fire.
Dan Mason. As they first approach the abandoned mines, Dan notices the EDF gunship flying from a distance. He stays back to watch the ship as Alec goes to collect some salvage, the currency of the game. As Alec returns, the ship notices them and tells them to freeze, as Dan is under arrest for being a Red Faction member. He makes a break for and is shot down by the gunship. After this, Alec goes back to the house and is being arrested for having remote charges and being Dan's brother, even though he has a permit for his charges. The group leader tells the group to shoot Alec, but he is saved by the Red Faction, including Samanya and the Red Faction commander. Samanya helps Alec to cope with the loss and the commander talks him into joining the cause.
Alec Mason. Alec first lands on Mars during the beginning cutscene of the game. He is met there by his brother, Dan, and they go to his house. Along the way, they see some EDF (Earth Defense Force) trucks driving down the middle of the road and must swerve to avoid them. It is also here where Alec learns that the Red Faction, a group trying to free Mars from EDF rule, has been reborn.
Fleetfoot. The Fleetfoot backpack is a great way to cross a map very quickly, or close in on an enemy with a close range weapon. It is also good for getting to any objective quickly, whether that be on offense or defense.
