Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
|Finally, we conclude with a question of true Norse Mythology that was covered in "Valkyrie Profile". There is a place that is home to the human race, and it is also the name of their chief city. It is one of the nine worlds, located below Asgard and above Nifleheim in the universe. The gods look over it, protecting humans from other outside forces. It is here that the Valkyries choose suitable souls. Also, the entrance to Asgard lies here. What is the name of this world which Valkyrie scours for the entire length of the game?||"Valkyrie Profile"
Midgard. Midgard, which when translated means "middle earth", was connected to Asgard by a rainbow bridge called Bifrost. The game's portrayal of Midgard is fairly accurate to its Norse Mythological roots. As a centralized point in many games, middle earth is mentioned often and is sometimes alluded to based on these myths. Some even say that the city you start "Final Fantasy VII" in, Midgar, is called this because it is taken from Norse Mythology's "Midgard". Well, that's it! Thanks for playing! Hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you enjoyed "Valkyrie Profile", an excellent real-time RPG from Enix and Tri-Ace!
Lezard Valeth. After Valkyrie and Lezard fight, Valkyrie is very adamant on the fact that love cannot exist between human and gods. Lezard Valeth expands the story into greater depths by saying "What did you just say? Between human and god? You really don't have any idea what you are, do you?"
|During the prologue that you can select from the main menu, you see a story between a boy named Lucian and a girl named Platina. Lucian sneaks into Platina's bedroom to inform his childhood friend that her parents have sold her. They run away and end up in a poisonous field that take Platina's life because it is covered with what?||"Valkyrie Profile"
Weeping Lilies. The prologue is very sad... here is an excerpt from it:
Platina: "It's so beautiful! Do you think this might be... Heaven?"
Lucian: "It's bad luck to say such things!"
Platina: "Tee hee. I'm sorry."
Lucian: "These flowers... they're... Platina! We've got to get out of here! These flowers, all of them, they're... Weeping Lilies!"
Platina: "Weeping... Lilies?"
Lucian: "That's right! If we stay here, their poison will kill us! ...Platina?"
Platina: "If I were to fall asleep here, would I be able to just... slip away?"
Platina: "I can't stand it any longer! No matter how hard I've tried... Mother and Father have never treated me with kindness! If you care about me so much, Lucian. Do you think... Do you think we might be reborn? That we might be reborn... together?"
Platina: "I'm so glad to have known you, Lucian. But I have too many awful memories. I just want to forget. Forget...it...all..."
Lucian: "No! Wake up! I won't have it! You want me to forget!? Would you forget me too, Platina---? Platina? PLATINA!"
|In this game, you recruit many people. They are heroes who died, some bravely, and some not as much. They are chosen by Valkyries, who then escort them to Valhalla. What are these people called?||"Valkyrie Profile"
Einherjar. According to Norse Mythology, the Einherjar are the heroes who died as brave warriors on the field of battle. They are chosen by Valkyries, who then escort them to Valhalla. There, half of them are taken by Freyja, while the remaining half stay with Odin in the
hall of the slain (Valhalla). Every morning, they are awakened by the crow of the cock Gullinkambi. During the day, they train by fighting with the other Einherjar, and are also given advice by the gods. At night, they all gather in Valhalla with Odin to feast. Afterwards, their wounds are miraculously healed, for them to start another day of training. During Ragnarok, the beginning of the end, they will fight alongside Odin in the war to end all wars against the giants. In case you are wondering, as they are brought up many times in this game, Aesir means "god", while Vanir means "friend". The Aesir are the main race of gods in Norse Mythology who live in
Asgard at the highest level of the universe, while the Vanir are the second race of gods who live in Vanaheim, which is located on the same level as Asgard. They are a race of wild nature and fertility gods, who lived more peacefully with the earth.

|The Lesser Dragons and Dragon Zombies are really hard to beat, because of their incredible physical defense. But they do have one weakness that kills them very quickly. What is it?||"Valkyrie Profile" Frenzy
lightning elemental spells. Counter attacks and combos (no matter how long) still don't affect their physical defense. The poison status works on all monsters, but since those have high HP, it's not all that useful. Although Lesser Dragons and Dragon Zombies die really fast when hit by a lightning elemental spell (there are only two - Prismatic Missle and Lightning Bolt). Note that they can be killed as quick when you equip yourself with a Dragon Slayer sword, which, as the name says, kills them in one hit.
|Every character, besides the mages, has 3 basic combo attacks that can be arranged as you like. But sometimes you can only use one or two of them. Why does that happen?||"Valkyrie Profile" Frenzy
It depends on the weapon that character has equipped. It's the weapon that decides on the amount of that characters basic combo attacks. Level, monsters or "hero value" don't have anything to do with it.
Leticia. You know that if you played the game. It's mentioned a couple of times in the cutscene right before you recruit her.
Belenus and Aelia. Arngrim and Badrach met when they were both hired to transport a mysterious shipment (which turned out to be princess Jelanda). Shiho and Suo met during the war in Hai Lan, Shiho was the song maiden in the forces of Suo's enemies, and even though Suo himself had spared her life, she was killed by his superior. It's not known when did Kashell and Grey met, but it's a fact that they know each other. They were once friends, but after the death of their friend Lemia, Kashel along with their other friends, Celia and Aelia, had been searching for Grey, suspecting Grey as Lemia's killer (the fact is, that Lemia sacrificed herself in the ritual of "soul transfer" to rescue Grey's life). All of them, except Celia, had died along the way.
Arngrim and Lawfer. The very first battle in the game is when Arngrim and Lawfer fight a Lesser Harpy. Be aware that it's one of only a few battles when you control your characters while they're still alive.
Seraphic Gate. Seraphic Gate can be acessed if you restart a new game after you completed the main story or if you exit the last dungeon after you saved in the last save point of the dungeon. It is in the western portion of the world map. Cave of Trials is an optional dungeon in "Star Ocean 2: The Second Story". Maze of Tribulation is an optional dungeon in "Star Ocean 3: Till The End of Time". The Lost City of Dipan is one of the dungeons in "Valkyrie Profile".
|Besides attack and magic, characters can learn skills to support their capabilities in the battle. How do the characters learn these skills?||"Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria"
All of these ways (By winning battles, By wearing certain equipment, By combining runes with the same color). Your skill will grow depending on your level and the enemy level. Once it reaches 100%, you will have fully learned the skill. It is possible to learn more than one skill at one time, depending on the combination of the runes.
Break Mode. Break Mode is achieved if you break the enemy body part many times. Each character will have each calculation, so it is possible to enter another Break Mode right after you go into one mode.
|Another significant feature in the game is you can do something with your enemy to make them give an item to you. What is this something?||"Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria"
Break part of their body. If you break a body part of an enemy you will get an item from that part. Depending on your position, you can break different body parts. For example, you can break an enemy's tail if you stand behind them or you can break its wings if you stand beside the enemy.
|There is a special attack in the game that you can achieve if you meet certain requirements. What is the name of the special attack?||"Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria"
Soul Crush. Soul Crush can be executed if you fulfil two requirements: you equip a certain weapon that enables Special Attack and you fill the gauge bar up to 100. Purify Weird Soul is the name of special attack in "Valkyrie Profile". Limit Break is the name of special attack in the "Final Fantasy" series. Desperation Moves is the name of special attack in the "King of Fighters" series.
Lenneth and Hrist. Freya and Frei are the gods who served Odin. Leone is the mercenary you will find in one of the dungeons. Alicia is the main protagonist of the game. It is told in the game that Lenneth and Hrist cannot exist together at the same time.
Solde. You will start at Solde and recruit your first companion. Dipan, Villnore and Coriander are the names of the cities (or villages) that you will visit later in the game.
Nine. One weapon (staff, sword, bow, etc), one head protector, one armor, one arm protection and one leg protection can be worn. In addition, 4 accessories can be equipped, bringing the total up to nine.
Rufus. If you do not read the question carefully, you will answer either Alicia or Silmeria. Rufus is one of the main characters. The story, later on, will reveal his identity and his goal.
