Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information

    Yoshi

True or False: Mario makes an appearance after you complete a castle level?"Yoshi's Story" #1

false. Yoshi, Bowser, and some enemies are the only characters from other "Mario" games featured in "Yoshi's Story".

How many levels feature a long dragon that Yoshi rides?"Yoshi's Story" #1

      2. The dragon is found in Cloud Crusing on Page Three, and Magma Castle. The first dragon you find is green, and the second is red.

What is the fourth level of Page Six?"Yoshi's Story" #1

Magma Castle. In Story Mode, the more big hearts you find, the more levels will be opened in the next page. The incorrect answers are the other levels of Page Six.

Which regular Yoshis like ick worms?"Yoshi's Story" #1

light and dark blue. The other Yoshis do not find ick worms appetizing.

What food do regular Yoshis not like?"Yoshi's Story" #1

peppers. Black and white Yoshis do like peppers, but I don't consider them regular Yoshis, since you don't start the game with them. If a regular coloured Yoshi eats a pepper, a blue squiggly line will appear in a cloud above its head.

Which unusual coloured Yoshi is in Poochy and Nippy and The Tall Tower?"Yoshi's Story" #1

white. The white Yoshi has the highest voice of any of the Yoshis. The black Yoshi has the deepest voice.

What special coloured Yoshi can be found in Bone Dragon Pit and Torrential Maze?"Yoshi's Story" #1

black. Both Bone Dragon Pit and Torrential Maze are found in Page Two. The black Yoshi can be played like the other Yoshis.

What colour Shy Guy will retrieve Yoshis that have been defeated so they can be played again?"Yoshi's Story" #1

white. If you find a white Shy Guy and one of your Yoshis has been defeated, select it on your next turn. Your Yoshi will be returned.

How many melons are found in each level?"Yoshi's Story" #1

      30. Yoshi must collect thirty fruits to finish a level. His challenge is to get all the melons for a better score.

What is a green Yoshi's favourite food?Do You Know Yoshi?

melon. Since the Yoshi is green, its favourite food is most likely to be the same color as it. Yoshi's favourite food, as told in "Yoshi's Story" is a melon. You get a high score in this game if you gather thirty melons in each level.

In "Mario Kart Super Circuit", how many stars does Yoshi have for weight?Do You Know Yoshi?

two. Yoshi has two stars for weight. Toad and Peach only have one star, Mario and Luigi have three, Wario and Donkey Kong have four and Bowser has the most.

There are two secret Yoshi in "Yoshi's Story". What colors are they?Do You Know Yoshi?

black and white. The two secret colors are black and white. To get these Yoshi you have to find their well hidden eggs.

Does Yoshi appear in "Super Mario 64"?Do You Know Yoshi?

Yes. Yoshi does appear in "Super Mario 64". After you have gained all 120 stars, he appears at the top of the castle.

Is Yoshi a playable character in "Mario Golf 64?"Do You Know Yoshi?

Yes. Indeed he is, and he appears in many other party gamrs such as the party series and the tennis series. Joining Yoshi in this game are Wario, Donkey Kong and Plum.

What is the name of Yoshi's course in "Mario Kart 64"?Do You Know Yoshi?

Yoshi Valley. "Yoshi Valley" is the name of the character's race course in "Mario Kart 64". On this course, all players locations and positions remain a secret until the end of the race.

Yoshi appears in these games, but which one doesn't he appear as a playable character?Do You Know Yoshi?

"Mario & Wario". Yoshi does appear in "Mario & Wario", but sadly not as a playable character. Although both Mario and Wario are in the title, neither of them are playable characters either, instead you control a fairy who acts as a Guardian Angel for Mario, Yoshi and Peach.

What is the name of the cloud monster at the end of Poochy and Nippy?"Yoshi's Story" #2

Cloudjin. When Yoshi finishes Poochy and Nippy, he has to fight a fire-breathing cloud called Cloudjin. You also have to avoid the spike balls that fall from the sky.

In which level does Yoshi have to climb large bird houses and avoid flocks of pesky litle birds?"Yoshi's Story" #2

The Tall Tower. I found The Tall Tower to be one of the most difficult levels. The long jumps are hard to make and the fruit is not always easy to find. The second part of the level requires Yoshi to flutter jump very long distances. When Yoshi eats the little birds, they do give you eggs, but do not refill your life meter.

What are the names of the big slug-like creatures in page four?"Yoshi's Story" #2

Neurons. The fourth level of page four is even called Neuron Jungle. The neurons are harmless, but they aren't always helpful. It is easy to slide off them, and sometimes they block your path from collecting rewards.

What determines how many levels you can choose from in Story Mode?"Yoshi's Story" #2

The number of big hearts you find. If you find all three big hearts in a level, you can choose from four levels on the next page. If you find one heart, you choose from two levels, and for two hearts, you can choose from three levels. Once you access and play a level on Story Mode, you can play it anytime you want in Trial Mode.

Which Yoshi has the most high-pitched voice?"Yoshi's Story" #2

white. If you can find the white Yoshi in the Story Mode setting, it sounds like it squeaks when it talks. If the white Yoshi sniffs out a treasure in the ground, its "Woof, woof!" sounds more like, "Wee, wee!"

How many snow levels are in the game?"Yoshi's Story" #2

Two. These two levels are found on page 3. In Poochy and Nippy, Yoshi has to avoid snowball tossing Shy Guys and trust his dog friend Poochy to lead him in the right direction. You will meet some very strange enemies in Frustration, including bomb-dropping birds and huge snakes.

These water-dwelling meanies also come in two different colours. Blue ones just bob up and down while the red ones chase after the baby dinos. Sometimes fruit not quite digested can be found in them (yep, Yoshis will eat anything). What are these enemies called?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Jellyfish. Not surprisingly, Jellyfish can be found floating in the level "Lots o' Jellyfish".Since there's no way to get rid of them and they can move through walls, Jellyfish can be pretty annoying. All the Yoshis can do is swim as fast and as far away as they can.

This is the only enemy that can blend in with his surroundings. The only way to hurt him is to keep a sharp look-out for a shimmer in the background and fire an egg at him. Who is he?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Inviso. Luckily, there are plenty of Peepers who will refill your ammo when you're out. Inviso, like Cloud N. Candy, is also one of the "Midstory Meanies". He is fought at the very top of the "Tall Tower".

This aquatic creatures do not harm you directly, but they shoot out streams of water that send the Yoshis skyward toward more spiny enemies. Just time your crossings and all they'll be blowing is hot air. What is their name?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Clams. These crustaceans are located in the level "Lots o' Fish". Clams can be annoying, but they are simple to avoid.

He may be scary, but he is very helpful. He will ferry the Yoshis on his back across lava and amidst the clouds. Technically, he doesn't have a name, so instead can you tell me what he is?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Dragon. The dragon transports you twice in "Cloud Cruising" and once in "Magma Castle". The third time is a bit tricky because you must jump onto each arch that his back makes above the molten rock as he swims through it.

This is the only enemy that can change colours of its own free will. When it's one colour, it's okay to eat, but when it's the other colour, it's poisonous. Do you recall its correct name?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Tehee Butterfly. If red and pink Yoshis time their tongues right, and eat a Tehee Butterfly when it's pink, they'll swallow a delectable morsel that will earn them one egg and health. But if you want to be more careful, put an end to their giggles and shoot them out of the sky (stomping works good too). They can be found buzzing around "Tower Climb" and "Jelly Pipe".

Shot out of cannons, these hard-headed meanies make a bee-line for the baby Yoshis. Although they look formidable, they can be eaten and turned into eggs and health, shot out of the sky, and stomped on. What are they called?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Bullet Bills. Although it's easy to get rid of Bullet Bills, it can be hard to avoid the cannons. In "Shy Guy's Ship", at a couple points you'll find yourself high in the sky with nothing but cannons (some of them follow the Yoshis' movements and then fire), a few clouds or blocks to rest on, and your bravery. Bullet Bills can also be found in "Tower Climb".

While other insects are hibernating, these bugs can be found alive and kicking in the snowy region of "Frustration". What kind of insects are they?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Centipedes. Centipedes (in this game) have hard, spiny bodies, so it would be inadvisable to stomp on them and eggs would be rendered useless. Also, they are too big to fit in the Yoshis' bellies. All you can do is leap over them when they gallop right towards you.

These etheral beings copy every move the Yoshis do, but in reverse. They move left when the Yoshis move right, and so on. What is the name of the copycat ghosts?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Big & Little Boos. To move them out of the way (attacks have no effect) just look down and the Boos will float to the ceiling. They are instantly recognizable because of their blue mouths. Unlike other Boos which haunt Bowser's castle, Big & Little Boos can only be found in the "Jelly Pipe".

Oozing their way up and down the ropes that Yoshis use to move across bottomless pits, these guys are impervious to anything the little dinos throw at them. What is their name?"Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes

Vine Slime. These squishy invertibrates impede the way to the one and only black Yoshi egg. They can be found slithering around the "Torrential Maze".
