Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Yoshi
30. Yoshi must collect thirty fruits to finish a level. His challenge is to get all the melons for a better score.
What colour Shy Guy will retrieve Yoshis that have been defeated so they can be played again? | "Yoshi's Story" #1
|
white. If you find a white Shy Guy and one of your Yoshis has been defeated, select it on your next turn. Your Yoshi will be returned.
What special coloured Yoshi can be found in Bone Dragon Pit and Torrential Maze? | "Yoshi's Story" #1
|
black. Both Bone Dragon Pit and Torrential Maze are found in Page Two. The black Yoshi can be played like the other Yoshis.
white. The white Yoshi has the highest voice of any of the Yoshis. The black Yoshi has the deepest voice.
peppers. Black and white Yoshis do like peppers, but I don't consider them regular Yoshis, since you don't start the game with them. If a regular coloured Yoshi eats a pepper, a blue squiggly line will appear in a cloud above its head.
light and dark blue. The other Yoshis do not find ick worms appetizing.
Magma Castle. In Story Mode, the more big hearts you find, the more levels will be opened in the next page. The incorrect answers are the other levels of Page Six.
2. The dragon is found in Cloud Crusing on Page Three, and Magma Castle. The first dragon you find is green, and the second is red.
True or False: Mario makes an appearance after you complete a castle level? | "Yoshi's Story" #1
|
false. Yoshi, Bowser, and some enemies are the only characters from other "Mario" games featured in "Yoshi's Story".
Yoshi appears in these games, but which one doesn't he appear as a playable character? | Do You Know Yoshi?
|
"Mario & Wario". Yoshi does appear in "Mario & Wario", but sadly not as a playable character. Although both Mario and Wario are in the title, neither of them are playable characters either, instead you control a fairy who acts as a Guardian Angel for Mario, Yoshi and Peach.
Yoshi Valley. "Yoshi Valley" is the name of the character's race course in "Mario Kart 64". On this course, all players locations and positions remain a secret until the end of the race.
Yes. Indeed he is, and he appears in many other party gamrs such as the party series and the tennis series. Joining Yoshi in this game are Wario, Donkey Kong and Plum.
Yes. Yoshi does appear in "Super Mario 64". After you have gained all 120 stars, he appears at the top of the castle.
black and white. The two secret colors are black and white. To get these Yoshi you have to find their well hidden eggs.
In "Mario Kart Super Circuit", how many stars does Yoshi have for weight? | Do You Know Yoshi?
|
two. Yoshi has two stars for weight. Toad and Peach only have one star, Mario and Luigi have three, Wario and Donkey Kong have four and Bowser has the most.
melon. Since the Yoshi is green, its favourite food is most likely to be the same color as it. Yoshi's favourite food, as told in "Yoshi's Story" is a melon. You get a high score in this game if you gather thirty melons in each level.
Two. These two levels are found on page 3. In Poochy and Nippy, Yoshi has to avoid snowball tossing Shy Guys and trust his dog friend Poochy to lead him in the right direction. You will meet some very strange enemies in Frustration, including bomb-dropping birds and huge snakes.
white. If you can find the white Yoshi in the Story Mode setting, it sounds like it squeaks when it talks. If the white Yoshi sniffs out a treasure in the ground, its "Woof, woof!" sounds more like, "Wee, wee!"
The number of big hearts you find. If you find all three big hearts in a level, you can choose from four levels on the next page. If you find one heart, you choose from two levels, and for two hearts, you can choose from three levels. Once you access and play a level on Story Mode, you can play it anytime you want in Trial Mode.
Neurons. The fourth level of page four is even called Neuron Jungle. The neurons are harmless, but they aren't always helpful. It is easy to slide off them, and sometimes they block your path from collecting rewards.
In which level does Yoshi have to climb large bird houses and avoid flocks of pesky litle birds? | "Yoshi's Story" #2
|
The Tall Tower. I found The Tall Tower to be one of the most difficult levels. The long jumps are hard to make and the fruit is not always easy to find. The second part of the level requires Yoshi to flutter jump very long distances. When Yoshi eats the little birds, they do give you eggs, but do not refill your life meter.
Cloudjin. When Yoshi finishes Poochy and Nippy, he has to fight a fire-breathing cloud called Cloudjin. You also have to avoid the spike balls that fall from the sky.
Lava Ghosts. Unable to be defeated by eggs, stomping, and tongue-licking, all you can do is dodge their bodies before they land on you and scorch you. These flaming entities can be found in "Blargg's Boiler".
These little guys try to swim right into the Yoshis' path, attempting to both block the Yoshis' progress and to hurt them as well, but they present barely any threat and can be slurped up easily. Who are they? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Cheep Cheeps . When eaten, they give you one egg, and increase your Smile Meter by two. Pink and red Yoshis find these small fry a delicacy.
They run. They fly. They hop on pogo sticks. They walk on stilts. They throw snowballs. They ride pirate ships and submarines. They drop weights on your head. They do all this and more to keep you from reaching Baby Bowser and also to make sure that the Yoshi's journey is as unhappy as possible. Who are they? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Shy Guys. Besides what's listed above, Shy Guys also try to trip up the Yoshis with limbo sticks and push flaming torches. They come in diffrent colours, red, blue, green, yellow, black, and white (white Shy Guys are actually helpful - if you find one and take him with you until the end of the level, in the Yoshi Select screen, if you are missing any Yoshis, the white Shy Guy will rescue one of them for you), and if you eat a Shy Guy that is of the same colour, you will gain more points.
Towering high above the Yoshis' heads, these feisty flora are impossible to pass. The only way to get by is to bean them on their own head and watch them tumble over like Jack's beanstalk. What is their name? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Piranha Plants. Out of the three piranha plant (titan piranha doesn't exist), the piranha plant is the only one who won't try to gobble you up. They, and the rest of the piranha family, can only be found in the appropriately named "Piranha Grove".
These enemies seem to have a "ball" doing what they do. They come running out of little chutes, drop onto the floor, and then roll at high speeds towards the young heroes. What's their name? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Spiked Fun Guys. Despite their name, these guys are anything but fun for the Yoshis. On a happier note the Spiked Fun Guys' spiny bodies are no match for the Yoshi's stomachs of steel; eggs are also a good arsenal to have when battling them. They can be located in the "Jelly Pipe" and the "Torrential Maze".
These colourful meanies careen off the walls of Bowser's "Magma Castle". The Yoshi's have to be quick-footed to avoid getting squashed by them. What is their name? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Attacky Sacks. With the grin of a crocodile, these menacing balls bounce slowly, so they are easy to bypass. As soon as they reach for the ceiling, run like crazy and you'll reach the other side before the Attacky Sacks even have a chance to make Yoshi patties out of you.
This friendly helper will aid the Yoshis in their search for buried treasure. You'll always find him standing by a hidden melon, coins or secret steps that lead to a Special Heart. Who is the Yoshis' best friend? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Poochy. Poochy can be very useful if you're trying to complete the level with a high score under your belt. He can also help you find your way in "Poochy & Nippy" and in assisting with the process of unlocking new worlds.
While wading through "Jungle Puddle", the Yoshis stumble across this monstrous fish's territory. He is not fond of intruders unless they are the kind he can eat. To see if Yoshis ARE that kind of intruder, he will leap up out of the water and attempt to swallow them in one gulp. Who is this peckish piscine? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Red Blurp. This guy can be a real hassle when trying to collect all the melons. There is nothing you can do except be light on your feet and keen-eyed.
Possibly the yummiest enemy the Yoshis will come across, she attacks by jumping on top of the dinos' heads. The smaller she gets (from being eaten by the Yoshis), the higher and farther she can leap. What is her name? | "Yoshi's Story" Friends and Foes
|
Cloud N. Candy. Cloud N. Candy is part of a gang who call themselves "Midstory Meanies". She looms above the Yoshis in the level "Cloud Cruising".
