William Wooldridge. William Woolridge was appointed as the SMA on July 11, 1966 and served in that position until August 1968. He was assigned to 1st Infantry Division and participated in the D-Day landings and the Battle of the Bulge campaigns. He was also appointed as the 1st Infantry Division sergeant major and was then deployed to Vietnam.
