What does the United States Air Force call the C-141?

    Starlifter. This was the first jet powered aircraft the U.S. used for Airborne operations. It has also brought home the remains of a U.S. serviceman from Vietnam years after the war had ended. Now the C-141 is only in U.S. Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force Reserve units.

Name the United States Air Force C-5.
    Galaxy. The Galaxy is the largest aircraft made in the U.S..

What's another name for the United States Air Force C-130?
    Hercules. Some of the C-130's being used in Iraq and Afghanistan are the same ones used in Vietnam.

Choose the name of the United States Air Force KC-10.
    Extender. The McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30CF (convertible freighter) beat out the B747 to enter the Air Force as an in air refueler due to it's ability to operate from a shorter runway.

Let's try a United States Army aircraft. What is an AH-1?
    Cobra. This is the only Army helicopter not named after an Indian tribe, and the first helicopter developed solely for the purpose to attack.

What is a UH-1? Think actual United States Army given name. Not most popular name for this aircraft.
    Iroquois. Developed to be a "throw away" helicopter, the UH-1 is still in use and was the initial trainer for the Army up into the late 90's.

My favorite little helicopter. Choose the name for the United States Army OH-6.
    Cayuse. While the OH-58 is now the Army's light observation helicopter. The OH-6 is still in use with special operation detachments(now being called "little bird").

What does the United States Air Force call the C-17?
    Globemaster III. This remarkable air lifter broke 22 world records with feats like lifting off in under 1400 feet, carried it's load up to 44000 feet and then landed in under 1400 feet.

What is this Russian aircraft? The AN-225. We're looking for the NATO name.
    Cossack. The Antonov AN-225 is the largest aircraft in the world. There was only one completely built with another one started.

Let's finish with another United States Air Force favorite. Name the C-135.
    Stratolifter. The C-135 is built off the B707 airframe. The B707 brought the airline industry into the jet age. These great airplanes are still in high use by the Air Force.
