However, the disco started to not do well, in business, once a new establishment named The Steam Pit opened up. Erica continued to lose business when the city of Pine Valley created an ordinance, which forbid her from playing music after midnight. Erica decided to close the disco and she tried her luck at acting, modeling, and the cosmetics business. It was the cosmetics industry where Erica found the most success. Her most successful accomplishment, in cosmetics, was founding her own company called Enchantment.

Sean Cudahy. Sean Cudahy, Tom's brother, came to town and Devon immediately became attracted to him while still married to Wally McFadden. Devon did not like how she and Sean met, at cheap motel rooms, but she still had much fun and the time of her life with Sean. Once she became the pursuer and Sean was the pursued, he decided to call off their relationship. Sean moved on to Sybil Thorne.

Cliff and Nina reunited when Palmer admitted he paid Janice Rawlins to break them up.

f. Although Palmer did pay Janice to break up Cliff and Nina, it was actually Janice who informed both Cliff and Nina about hers and Palmer's scheme. Benny Sago. Billy Clyde Tuggle escaped from prison and drugged and raped Estelle. He came up with a plan to bury her and Benny Sago alive. Chuck Tyler found out about this and saved both Donna and Benny. Immediately after this, Estelle realized she was pregnant with Billy Clyde's child.

Estelle gave birth to a girl and had Benny and Donna be the baby girl's adoptive parents. They named her Emily Ann.

y. Once Phoebe finally agreed to grant Charles his divorce, he was free, at last, to marry his true love, Mona Kane. They became engaged and married, in a simple ceremony, in 1980. They remained happily married, until 1986, when Charles passed away. In real life, the actor who portrayed Charles, Hugh Franklin, died at the age of 70.
