In January, who was revealed to be Proteus?

Vanessa Cortlandt. It was at the fifth annual Crystal Ball that we found out it was Vanessa who was Proteus, the drug lord. Vanessa, for many months, loaded the town of Pine Valley with plenty of drugs. When she got caught, she faked insanity to avoid going to trial.

In February, Dixie left town and was pregnant with Tad's child. Who else knew that she was pregnant?

David Hayward. Dixie found out she was pregnant but did not tell Tad that he was the father since she was afraid Tad would not love the baby. Dixie devised a plan to go to Switzerland and got help from David to make that move happen. Dixie left town when David arranged for her to be treated by a doctor in Switzerland.

In March, which couple got married?

David Hayward and Anna Devane. David and Anna decided to elope since David was arrested for being Proteus (the real Proteus planted some files on David's compute). By eloping, Anna would not have to testify against David at his trial. David and Anna married at a Justice of the Peace church. Despite how they married for business reasons, they fell in love shortly after tying the knot.

In April, who had a tumor removed from his/her brain?

Liza Colby. Liza behaved strangely for a couple of months and it was revealed that she had a brain tumor. The doctors decided to operate on her to remove the tumor. Liza asked her sister, Mia Saunders, to look after Colby if she did not make it through the surgery. The surgery was successful and Liza's tumor was removed. At first, Liza had amnesia but it was very temporary.

In May, whose house burned to the ground?

Erica Kane. Erica Kane's house went up in smoke in May of 2002 when Trey Kenyon, a newcomer to town, set her home on fire. Erica made it out alright but Chris and Bianca were still inside. Chris and Bianca made it out safely and nobody was seriously injured. Kendall Hart was charged with burning down Erica's house since her cigarette lighter was at the scene. Kendall was eventually acquitted of arson on Erica's house.

In June, Bianca and Maggie went to what big event together?

Senior Prom. Bianca and Maggie were best friends but they both decided to attend their Senior Prom together. Erica helped Bianca and Maggie get ready and Jack came over to see his daughter off to the big event. Bianca and Maggie had a great time but, for many months, Maggie insisted she was only sexually attracted to men.

In July, at what kind of establishment did Brooke come face to face with a very much alive Maria that led to a heated conversation?

A hospital. Lorenzo Santos became very ill and he needed a kidney transplant. It was revealed that the closest relative who was a match for a donation was Lorenzo's paternal aunt, Maria Santos. Since Maria was thought to have died in a plane crash five years earlier, both Hayley and Mateo scrambled to find a donor. They found a woman in Nevada named "Maureen Gourman" that was a match for Lorenzo. Tad and Brooke went to Nevada to find "Maureen" and, one day, Brooke went to a hospital (that was where "Maureen" said she worked) and asked for "Maureen Gourman." The lady told her "Maureen" was right behind her and Brooke touched her shoulder and it was not Maria. However, Maria came in and Brooke saw her. Maria recognized Brooke at a hotel (but Brooke passed out so she and Maria did not talk) and Maria told her to stop following her. It was revealed that Maria had another woman stand in for her as "Maureen" but, in reality, "Maureen Gourman" was an alias that Maria used. Maria eventually returned to Pine Valley and we found out that she had amnesia.

In August, it was revealed that Trey Kenyon was Vanessa's son. Who was Trey's biological father?

Richard Fields. Leo and Trey argued, one day, in Vanessa's hospital room and Vanessa told Leo to not hurt her son. Soon after, we learned that Trey was also the child of Richard Fields, the man who raped Erica, and that meant Trey and Kendall Hart were half siblings. Trey's real name was Ben Shepherd and the real Trey Kenyon was a college friend of his who had died. After he died, he took on Trey's name.

In September, Stuart, Marian, and who else teamed up to try and get Adam and Liza to see how much they were hurting Colby?

Mia Saunders. Stuart, Marian, and Mia all saw how much Adam and Liza's battle for custody of Colby was really hurting the little girl. They tried hard to make them see how much they truly had damaged their daughter. Adam and Liza's battles in 2002 started when it was revealed that Liza had siphoned off money from Chandler Enterprises since she thought that Adam was going to try and take Colby from her. Adam, in return, gaslighted Liza. Despite them going to a therapist to work on their marriage, Adam and Liza eventually divorced.

In October Vanessa kidnapped Greenlee, and Leo confronted her at Miller's Falls and told her to let Greenlee go. Leo and Vanessa plunged over the falls and Greenlee almost died, but who rescued her?

Trey Kenyon. When Leo confronted Vanessa at Miller's Falls and told her to release Greenlee, Vanessa refused. Greenlee fought off Vanessa and, when she did, she slipped over the ledge but caught on to something. Leo went over to try and rescue her but Vanessa shot at Greenlee. Leo ran over and struggled to get the gun out of Vanessa's hand and, during the struggle, they both plunged over the falls to what appeared to be their deaths. Meanwhile, Trey was nearby and he rescued Greenlee.
