By praying in temples. In "Age of Mythology", the resources are Food, Wood, Gold and Favour. Favour is necessary for summoning Myth units. Favour is obtained in different ways for different civilisations. Myth units are determined by the God you worship and can include Gorgons, Minatours, Pegasus, Cyclops etc (for Greeks). Egyptians gain favour by building monuments and Norse gain favour when they fight!
