How many engines does the 747 have?

    4. The 747 'Jumbo Jet' is the largest passenger aircraft. It even has an upper deck!

How many engines did the Russian G-11 have?
    None, it was a glider. The G-11 Glider was widely used by the Red airforce in WWII. They were used for descent operations and could carry 12 troops with small amounts of supplies also. In operations in Belarus in 1943, the Soviet G-11s delivered over 215 tonnes of supplies.

How many engines did the He-162 Salamander have?
    1. The He-162 was designed by the German Heinkel company as a 'Volksjager' or peoples fighter in WWII. It was designed as a high speed jet interceptor, to be flown by Hitler Youth members. Over 1,000 were sent to active squadrons.

The B-52 has 8 engines. How are they mounted?
    4 Nacelles containing 2 engines in each. The B-52 is a very large U.S. bomber, used for carpet bombing and, more recently, airborne stand off cruise missile launch platforms.

Civilian aircraft: the Concorde, now unfortunately retired from service, had how many engines?
    4 & four. Concorde was the only supersonic airliner. The engines were 2 each side of the fuselage on the delta wing.

The MD-80 has 2 engines.
    t. The MD-80 is a nice medium sized airliner. The engines are mounted up on the tail, one either side of the fin.

The Nazi 'Mistel' project had how many engines before separation, including both aircraft?
    3. The 'Mistel' project was a converted bomber with high explosives instead of the nose section. On top of a framework on this was a fighter, from which the pilot controlled both. He aimed for the target then detached the fighter, and the bomber ploughed into the ground. Clever! Some combinations were: Fw-190/Ju88 Me-109/He111 (prototype) Me-262/Ar-232 (thanks to Pusser 1 for that one)

How many engines does the 737 have?
    2. The 737 is a small but excellent airliner.

How many engines did the BI-1 have?
    1. The BI-1 was a Russian rocket interceptor in WWII. Only 3 were made. One was destroyed in a test, and the others never saw combat.

How many engines did the HS-129 have?
    2. The HS-129 was a German ground attack aircraft. It was nicknamed the 'Flying Armoured Car' because of the thick armour.
