Rainbow Valley. Darling little Walter came up with this name after a rainstorm when a rainbow went right through the Hollow. He decided it needed a better name, so Rainbow Valley it became.
|What was said to be an 'omen' of Walter's future at Courcelette?|
A white cross above his head while he was sleeping. Poor, poor Walter would indeed die while going over the hill at Courcelette. Anne regarded that white cross she has seen as an omen of a white cross to be over Walter's head 'somewhere in France'.
|Of whom does Anne become very jealous at the end of the book?|
Christine Stuart. She thought Gilbert didn't love her anymore, so when Gil started complementing her and being dazed, she became spitefully jealous.
|Who is Susan Baker?|
The family's cook and housekeeper. Susan is the nicest old duck!
|Who is Susan's 'little brown boy'?|
Shirley. Anne was so sick after giving birth to Shirley, that Susan had to take care of him for weeks, and soon came to believe that Shirley was her boy.

Rilla's teacher. Rilla just worships the ground Miss Emmy walks on!

Carry a cake through town. Rilla threw the cake in the river when she saw Miss Emmy coming, then found out that Miss Emmy was carrying a cake too!

A sailor friend of Jem's. He showed Jem his pocketwatch, his ship models and told him stories.

London. There's a medical conference there in February, and Gil insists that they both need a holiday.

Jem's best friend. Such a weird name!
