What is the current name of 'the Hollow'?

Rainbow Valley. Darling little Walter came up with this name after a rainstorm when a rainbow went right through the Hollow. He decided it needed a better name, so Rainbow Valley it became.

What was said to be an 'omen' of Walter's future at Courcelette?

A white cross above his head while he was sleeping. Poor, poor Walter would indeed die while going over the hill at Courcelette. Anne regarded that white cross she has seen as an omen of a white cross to be over Walter's head 'somewhere in France'.
