    Los Angeles Lakers. Having lost to the Lakers in the 1988 NBA Finals, the Pistons entered the 1989 Finals determined to get revenge. They did so emphatically, sweeping the Lakers in four games.

    Mark Aguirre. Aguirre went to Detroit as a three time All-Star and quality scorer. Well known for his bad attitude, he was soon put in his place by the other Bad Boys on the team, especially Bill Laimbeer, and quickly became an integral member of the Pistons.

    Joe Dumars. Joe Dumars, the nice guy of the Bad Boys, stepped out of Isiah's shadows with an intense finals series at both ends of the court. He averaged 27.3 points a game and played tough defense in the series.

    Rick Mahorn. Mahorn was Detroit's starting power forward in 1988-89. He was swooped on by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1989 expansion draft. The expansion draft allowed new NBA franchises Minnesota and the Orlando Magic to select unprotected NBA players to build their teams. It came as a shock to everyone to lose him so unexpectedly.

The baddest of the Bad Boys was Bill Laimbeer. What number did he wear for the Pistons?
    40. Laimbeer was one of the most hated players in NBA history. Often compared to a common street thug, he famously had punch-ups with some of the leagues highest profile players. He was also one of the best rebounding centers of the 80s, leading the league in 1985-86.

    Indiana, New York, Chicago, Portland. Detroit made easy work of the Pacers and the Knicks, but were taken to seven games by the emerging Bulls. They then defeated the Trail Blazers 4-1 in the finals.

    Isiah Thomas. Isiah was one of the greatest point guards of the 80s. He averaged 27.6 pints, 7 assists, and 5.2 rebounds through the 1990 finals.

Who led the Pistons in rebounding through the 1989-90 regular season?
    Dennis Rodman. Rodman finished 11th in the NBA with 9.7 rebounds per game, just ahead of Laimbeer who was 12th with 9.6 per game. Rodman was named NBA defensive player of the year that season. He later led the NBA in rebounding in seven straight seasons, and collected a further three championship rings with the Chicago Bulls.
