Special Sub-Topic: "Care Bears" Forever!

Which Care Bear is the founder of the Care Bears family?

True Heart Bear. This is revealed in the second Care Bears movie, "Care Bears II: A New Generation". Although Tenderheart Bear is indeed a leader in the TV series, he was actually still a cub when True Heart founded Care-a-Lot, along with Noble Heart Horse.

Which of the following Care Bears is NOT an original character from the TV series?
Laugh-a-Lot Bear. Laugh-a-Lot bear was invented along with quite a few others, when the new design of Care Bear was released. This bear is bright orange with a laughing yellow star on his chest, and did not exsist in the original show. Some other new invented Care Bears include Do-Your-Best Bear, Heartsong Bear and Oopsie Bear!

In one of the original episodes, two new characters are introduced. They are referred to as "The Long Lost Care Bears." What were the names of these two Bears?
Perfect and Polite. Perfect and Polite are Panda Bears, and they actually only appear in one episode. True Heart Bear announces to the rest of the Bears that when the pandas were cubs, Perfect and Polite were frightened away by No-Heart and got lost. In the episode they try to fit in with the other Care Bears but realise where they really belong is in the jungle where they are usually found.

Who are the Care Bear Cousins and where do they live?
Other animal friends of the Care Bears, who live in the Forest of Feelings.. The Care Bear cousins have a large part in the TV series and movies, but the history of how they came to be part of the Care Bear family is revealed in the first Care Bear movie. Grumpy Bear invents a teleporter to transport the bears from Care-a-Lot to Earth in a shorter time. But the machine fails while the Care Bears are using it. They get stuck between the two worlds, and end up in the Forest of Feelings, halfway between Earth and Care-a-Lot. This is the home of the Care Bears Cousins, who join the Bears on their quest, and become part of their Caring Mission.

One of the Care Bear cousins, though he appears quite a lot throughout the movies and TV shows, never actually had anything to say! Which cousin was this?
Loyal Heart Dog. Loyal Heart Dog is a blue Care Bear Cousin with a heart-shaped medal on his chest. Oddly enough even though he has heaps of appearances, (he's in almost every episode and both movies) he never actually says a word! Incredible huh?!

OK here's an interesting one! One of the episodes in the TV series actually deals with the issue of death, or loss of a loved one. How was this dealt with in the episode?
Baby Hugs and Tugs must say goodbye to their friend the Sleeping Giant when he goes back to sleep for a hundred years.. This episode is called "The Sleeping Giant". It was actually written with the intention of helping children understand and cope with the stresses of saying goodbye to a loved one.

Who is Shreeky?
No-Heart's niece. Shreeky appears quite frequently in the later TV series, and for a while she is the main "bad guy." Accompanied by No-Heart's stupid but hilarious sidekick Beastly, Shreeky wrecks havock for the Care Bears with her evil magic mirror. Her name comes from her horrible, deafening shriek (even Beastly can't stand it) which she lets loose when things don't quite go as planned!

What is so special about Grams Bear?
All of these. (She looks after Baby Hugs and Tugs., She has twice the power of any of the other Care Bears., She's a hip, cool grandma who plays the guitar.). Thats right, all of them! Grams Bear is one of the most interesting Care Bear characters. Although she isn't in either of the movies, she's in almost every episode in the TV series. Her main role is to look after the two cubs Hugs and Tugs, but in one episode we discover that this old gal has more power than we give her credit for! The other Care Bears are fed some very nasty apple pie which turns them into grouchy uncaring bears! But good ol' Grams saves the day by 'staring' the bad guy and destroying his evil machine in one go! In the same episode we find out that Grams is a bit of a whiz on the electric guitar!

Can we understand the little Star and Heart characters when they talk to the Care Bears?
no. These cute little critters can indeed communicate with the Care Bears, but they never actually speak in English. To us their speech just sounds like squeaks and chirps. The stars and hearts are usually messengers for the Care Bears, though they have a more important role in the movies.

What is Brave Heart Lion's worst fear?
The dark. Yep it's true! This Lion, supposedly brave above all the Care Bears, is mortally afriad of the dark! This is revealed in the episode "The Care Fair Scare" in which a spooky castle ride is supposedly really haunted!
