Special Sub-Topic: Cryptic Rock - Part 2

Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath - U.K. rockers from hell. Actually they're quite a mild mannered bunch really, well - excepting Ozzy Osbourne, who seems to be more famous for his off- and onstage antics than his music these days.

Confused line, youthful, gets involved with insane equine? (4,5,3,5,5)
Neil Young And Crazy Horse. Line anagram of Neil, youthful = young, Equine = Horse. One of my favourite artists. The 'Sleeps With Angels' album is a classic.

Go up and down in water with the poet Thomas? ( 3,5 )
Bob Dylan. Incredible and inventive lyricist, Bob Dylan is without doubt one of the key figures from 20th century music. A major influence on most of the singer songwriters that came after him, i.e. John Lennon, Neil Young, Donovan, and Van Morrison, to name a few.

The Who. Myself = me, take from theme leaving 'how the' confused = The Who One of the great rock bands of all time, especially in concert.

The Rolling Stones. Clue relates to adage 'A rolling stone gathers no moss'. Lichen is a word for a type of moss. Billed as the 'greatest rock 'n' roll band of all time'. Personally, Led Zeppelin get my vote.

Red hoots for re-order as mojo rises? ( 3,5 )

Bruce Springsteen. Easy one this, anagram of 'pure teens ring cbs' and classic song.

Pearly gates man does a Lazarus? ( 5,8 )
Peter Frampton. Okay, a bit obscure this one! Pearly gates man = Peter (keeper of the gates of heaven). Lazarus is the guy who is brought back from the dead by Jesus - this could be seen as 'comes alive', which relates to the classic live album by Peter entitled 'Frampton Comes Alive', which became one of the biggest-selling albums of all time.

The imperial measurement of crows, eagles, doves and hawks, etc. One could say?
The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds contained through their history three of the most influential guitarists that Britain ever produced, namely, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, the latter going on to form Led Zeppelin from the ashes of The Yardbirds.
