Gothenburg. The contest was held in the Scandinavium in Gothenburg. The Scandinavium is the major sporting arena in that city, and was the largest venue used by that date by the Eurovision competition.

four. Four countries tied for two positions. Spain's "La fiesta terminů" ("The Party's Over") and Turkey's "Didai didai dai" (no translation) tied for fourteenth place, while Cyprus' "To Katalava Arga" ("I Realised It Was Too Late") and Greece's "Miazoume" ("We Are Alike") tied for sixteenth.
