Billy Blanks. Born on September 1 1955 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was the 4th of 15 children. Inventor of Tae Bo, he is dyslexic. He holds a 7th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and black belt in 5 other martial arts. He was captain of the US Karate team, winning 36 international gold medals.

Michelle Yeoh. Born Yeoh Chu-Kheng on August 6 1962 in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. She has been a ballet dancer since the age of 4 and has a BA degree in dance from the Royal Academy of Dance in London. She was Miss Malaysia in 1983.

Bill Wallace. Bill 'Superfoot' Wallace. Born William Louis Wallace on December 1 1945 in Portland, Indiana. He injured his right leg in a Judo accident while in the Air Force, which left him 'just' one leg to kick with. He retired in June 1980 as the undefeated Professional Karate Association middle-weight champion, with 23 straight wins. He taught Elvis Presley from 1974-1977.

Sammo Hung. Born Sammo Hung Kam-Bo on January 7 1952 in Hong Kong. Along with Jackie Chan and Biao Yuen he began with the China Drama Academy. He has often worked with Jackie, either as an actor or director. He appeared with Bruce Lee in "Enter the Dragon". He was Bruce's opponent at the Shaolin Temple when Braithwaite first sees Lee.

David Carradine. Born John Arthur Carradine on December 8 1936 in Hollywood, California. Star of "Kung Fu" the series Bruce Lee helped develop. He has written a book on the philosophy of Kung Fu called "Spirit of the Shaolin". He has also written on Tai Chi, which he performs.

Chuck Norris. Born Carlos Ray Norris on March 10th 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. He was Steve McQueen's karate teacher. He is a black belt in both Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do. in 1996 he became the 1st Westerner awarded 8th degree in Tae Kwon Do.
