Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After the first plague was put upon Egypt, how long did it last?

Answer: 7 days

Through Moses and Aaron, God turned the Nile and all other Egyptian rivers and streams into blood. The blood lasted seven days. (Exodus 7:25)
2. When the Lord swarmed Egypt with frogs, when did Pharaoh say he would let the people go?

Answer: The next day

Pharaoh told Moses he would let his people go the next day. God listened and the frogs died. Pharaoh did not honor his word and did not let the people of Israel go. (Exodus 8:10-15)
3. What was the third plague put upon Egypt by the Lord?

Answer: Gnats

Gnats were put upon beast and man. This was the first time Pharaoh's magicians couldn't duplicate the plague. (Exodus 8:16-19)
4. God's chosen people were not afflicted with any of the ten plagues.

Answer: False

The people of Israel were afflicted with the first three plagues. With the fourth and subsequent plagues, God specifically divided his people from the Egyptians. (Exodus 8:20-24)
5. After the fifth plague, the disease of the beasts, Pharaoh's magicians revived Egypt's livestock.

Answer: False

The Lord placed disease on all Egyptian livestock and they died. The magicians did not intervene. Pharaoh sent out people to check Israel's livestock and they saw that they were untouched by the plague. (Exodus 9:3-7)
6. What did Moses and Aaron do to put the boils on the people of Egypt?

Answer: Threw soot from a kiln into the air

Moses and Aaron were instructed by God to take handfuls of soot from a kiln and throw it into the air while in Pharaoh's presence. The soot was like a dust over the land causing boils on man and beast. (Exodus 9:8-12)
7. God warned Pharaoh through Moses about the coming of the seventh plague so that people, livestock and food could be spared.

Answer: True

He told him the hail would come the next day as had never before been seen in that land. Pharaoh's people, livestock and fields could be saved if brought in, but any left out would die. (Exodus 9:18-21)
8. By blowing a fierce wind, into which body of water did the Lord drive the locusts?

Answer: Red Sea

Following the hail, Pharaoh continued to ignore God. God sent locusts as the eighth plague to devour all grain left in the field. Egypt's crops were destroyed. Pharaoh still tried to bargain with God, and God, allowing it, drove the locusts into the Red Sea. (Exodus 10:19)
9. How many days did the plague of darkness last?

Answer: 3 days

The ninth plague was darkness. It lasted three days. The people of Israel had light, but no one in Egypt could rise due to the severe darkness. Pharaoh agreed to let all of the people go but the livestock had to stay behind. Moses refused and God continued to deal with Pharaoh. (Exodus 10:21-29)
10. The tenth and final plague on Egypt was death of the first-born.

Answer: True

This tenth plague was of the death of the first-born in all of Egypt. It is known as the Passover. God instructed the Israelites to place blood on the doorposts and lintels of their houses so that he would know which house to pass over so as not to inflict the plague upon His chosen people. (Exodus 11:4-7, 12:7-13)
