Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Extraction Point" left off immediately where "F.E.A.R." left off. After seeing Alma on the helicopter, the chopper was seen to have crashed into a building. Did everyone on board perish?

Answer: No

Other than the "Point-Man", the other two F.E.A.R. members, Douglas Holiday and Jin Sun-Kwon survived. Early in the game, the "Point-Man" and the others became separated. The highlight of the beginning of the game is the sight of several "deactivated" Replica Soldiers. Perhaps the biggest military videogame cliche involves no-one but the helicopter pilots dying in a crash.

It has been featured in "F.E.A.R", "Extraction Point", "SOCOM" series, "Call of Duty 4", and many others.
2. Did the primary villain of "F.E.A.R.", Paxton Fettel, actually die in the first game?

Answer: No

Despite seeming quite dead at the end of "F.E.A.R.", Paxton Fettel made a miraculous, and rather unexplained comeback. Apparently he was quite angry at the "Point-Man" for trying to kill him. Regardless, Paxton's return marked the reactivation of the Replica Army and more trouble for the player.
3. After defeating a contingent of Replica Soldiers, news arrived to the "Point-Man" involving the capture of which character?

Answer: Jin Sun-Kwon

The communication to the "Point-Man" came from the other "F.E.A.R." member, Douglas Holiday. After exiting the church catacombs, Holiday and the "Point-Man" joined forces to save Jin Sun-Kwon. More sinister things, even beyond the extent of the first game awaited the two.
4. After protecting Douglas Holiday at sniper-point, the "Point-Man" met back up with Holiday to continue their quest. Once into the nearby warehouse, a huge problem arose when new paranormal beasts attacked and killed Holiday. How did Holiday get killed?

Answer: His body was manipulated and tossed around before he was grinded into little bits.

After entering the warehouse, Holiday was already aware of the negative presences within. Due to the fact that the other F.E.A.R. team member had to be rescued, Holiday and the player decided to push on. Alas, Holiday was killed by the game's new demons.

He was lifted into the air, bent, twisted, tossed around and sucked into a room filled with those creatures. Horrific screams emanated from the locked room before the screaming stopped and Holiday's mangled corpse was knocked through the window of a nearby building. Once the player approached the body, a creature on the other side of the building ground up Holiday's corpse into a gruesome mess.
5. In the previous game, the "Point-Man" was the hunter, hunting down the Replica soldiers and their leader. What was he in "F.E.A.R. Extraction Point"?

Answer: The hunted

In the first game, the "Point-Man" was sent in to defeat Paxton Fettel and shut down the Replica army. After supposedly defeating Paxton, the armies were shut down for a short while. After returning from death, Paxton and his army were then the hunters, hunting the "Point-Man" with the intent to capture or kill. Alma Wade and her paranormal adversaries also joined to try and stop the game's hero.
6. How did the Replica troops move their equipment and supplies?

Answer: Through the subway system

One of the game's levels placed the player into the subway system, where the Replica forces had set up their operations. Their largest contingent, armory and heavy explosives were all stationed there. Unfortunately, thanks to the "Point-Man" and general enemy incompetence, all of the explosives destroyed the subway system.
7. Among the new enemy units introduced to the game was a brand new mech creature. The previous game had a lower version of the new one. What was the new one called?

Answer: REV 8

The REV 8 was a more powerful version of the REV 6. The REV 6 was slow, short and weakly armored. The REV 8 was equipped with rocket launchers, machine guns, amazing speed and power. It's bulkiness did make it easier to hit with weapon fire, but it's heavier armor made it more difficult to kill.
8. After locating F.E.A.R. operative Jin Sun-Kwon, the creatures that killed Doug Holiday, made a gruesome comeback. What was different about Jin Sun-Kwon's death, as opposed to Holiday's?

Answer: Her body was left intact after her death.

Both her and Douglas Holiday were subjected to the paranormal powers of the mysterious demons. Doug and Jin were both manipulated, tossed around and eventually killed. The difference though, was that the creatures did not turn Jin Sun-Kwon's corpse into mush like they did with Holiday.

The really disturbing part of her death was that with her gone, the player realized that they were completely alone.
9. Informed that he must get to the extraction point, the "Point-Man" was forced to battle his way to the roof of a particular building. What kind of building was it?

Answer: Hospital

The hospital was easily the most bloody and violent building in the game. Filled with the liquefied remains of patients and enemy soldiers, the hospital truly emphasized the horrors of the game. Near the end of the hospital level, the player was taken into a "mind-prison" by Alma Wade. Within it were the many people that she killed, including Harlan Wade and Alice Wade.

After escaping the vision, the hospital was restored to its old self.
10. Upon reaching the extraction point, the "Point-Man" easily eliminated Paxton Fettel and escaped to safety in the waiting helicopter.

Answer: False

When the player reached the roof, they encountered Paxton before having to face 10+ replica soldiers. When the helicopter arrived, the player had to run towards it to escape. Before reaching the helicopter, however, Paxton destroyed the chopper and told the "Point-Man" that he was too late, and that everything he was fighting for was already doomed. The screen then zoomed in towards the burning city while the credits rolled to conclude the game.
