Jesus went to the house of a man called Lazarus for a meal. Who was the lady who sat at his feet and listened to him talk?

    Mary. Mary and Martha were both sisters to Lazarus. Martha was very cross with Mary because she did not help to prepare the meal. This story is told in Luke Chapter 10 from verse 38.

In what religion was Jesus raised by his parents?
    Jewish. Jesus was a Jew, of the tribe of Judah and the house of David. You will find the family tree stretching from Abraham to Jesus, written in the first Chapter of Matthew.

When Jesus was born, his mother, Mary, did not have a cradle, so she placed him in another type of "cradle". What was this called?
    Manger. Jesus was born while his parents were on their way from Nazareth to register in Bethlehem. As they could find no accomodation they stayed in a stable and Jesus was placed in the animal's feeding trough (also called a manger). The story is in Luke chapter 2.

God created the whole world and everything in it, but who gave all the living creatures their names?
    Adam. We read about the creation of the world and man in the book of Genesis. In Chapter 2:19 we read how God brought the animals to Adam to name.

While the Israelites journeyed across the desert to the promised land for forty years, God told Moses that their _____ would not wear out. What was God talking about?
    clothes and shoes. While the Israelites wandered in the desert God also gave them food. He provided 'manna' to be gathered and also 'quail' for meat. You can read about the 'clothes and shoes' in Deuteronomy 29:5.

At the last supper, the night before Jesus was crucified, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. One of the disciples did not want Jesus to wash his feet. Who was this man?
    Peter. Peter felt that he was too lowly for Jesus to be serving him, but Jesus answered him saying that if he could not wash his feet, Peter could have no part in Jesus, so Peter asked Jesus to wash all of him! Read the story of the foot washing in John 13.

Jesus taught us that the most important thing we needed in life was ____.
    Love. Jesus did everything in love. We read in I Corinthians chapter 13 (sometimes called the 'Love Chapter') all about love. Especially 1 Corinthians 13:13 which says So faith,hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (Revised Standard Version)

Paul was a man who hated Jesus and his followers. Where was he on his way to when Jesus stopped him, blinding him with a bright light, which started him changing his life?
    Damascus. Paul changed his life completely and became one of Jesus's closest followers. Paul's (also known as Saul) story is told in Acts.

The first man and woman, Adam and Eve, lived in the Garden of Eden, a beautiful place. Why did God banish them from there?
    They were disobedient. God told them not to eat the fruit of one certain tree, "the tree of knowledge of good and evil". We all have to live with the consequences of our actions. This story appears in Genesis Chapter 3.

The Egyptian Pharaoh would not let the Israelite people, who were his slaves, leave Egypt. God let Moses lead them out after ten plagues were sent on Egypt. What was the last plague God sent?
    Death of all the firstborn sons. God instructed Moses to tell the Israelites to protect their firstborn sons from death by painting their door frames with the blood of a lamb. The angel of death then passed over the marked Israelite houses. This story can be read in Exodus Chapter 12.
