    Chicago Black Hawks. Mosienko was inducted into the hall of fame in 1965, after an 18 season career, but never won a championship.

    Detroit Red Wings. The Wings played Toronto next for the Stanley Cup, and won their first of many championships.

    Boston Bruins. This was the first Bruins title since 1941. They won again in 1972.

1919: This former NHA club finally was finally financially stable enough to join the three year old NHL, but was transferred to Hamilton the following season. Who was it?
    Quebec Bulldogs. In 1925, the team was moved again after an enraged President Calder, demanded the team be relocated, due to many Tigercat players going on strike during the playoffs.

1994: Who won the Stanley Cup over Vancouver, to end a 54 year cupless drought?
    New York Rangers. Captain Mark Messier told Ranger fans his team would win, and the President's Trophy winners for 1994, won the decisive game seven 3-2.

1968: Due to an on-ice incident, rookie Bill Masterton died in the first fatality in NHL history. What team did he play for that was also in its first season?
    Minnesota North Stars. This Expansion Six club became the second of the six to relocate, when they moved to Dallas in 1993. The Stars finally won their first cup in 1999.

1980: What team won its first of four straight championships, becoming the first American based club to do so?
    New York Islanders. In 1984, the Islanders tried for five, but lost in the finals to the previous year's finalists: the Edmonton Oilers.

1942: What team folded, leaving the NHL with the teams known as the Original Six?
    Brooklyn Americans. The first New York based club had not won a Stanley Cup since their relocation from Hamilton in 1925. They attempted to rejoin the NHL after World War II, but the league probably won't ever admit the Amerks back in.

1975: What team had the worst ever expansion record, based on the 80+ game season at 8-67-5?
    Washington Capitals. The other expansion team at the time, the Kansas City Scouts, had a better record, but became the Colorado Rockies in 1976, while Washington has stayed put.

1930: Who was Clint Benedict playing for, when created and wore the first ever goalie mask due to an injury, that led to his retirement soon after?
    Montreal Maroons. A shot by the NHL's first superstar, Canadien Howie Morenz, lead to Benedict's departure. Morenz's career was cut short too, when a complication caused by a leg injury led to his retirement and death in 1937.

1978: After only two seasons after being moved from the Bay Area, what team sold all their assets to Minnesota and closed its doors?
    Cleveland Barons. After the California Golden Seals moved in 1976, the NHL finally returned to northern California in 1991 with the San Jose Sharks. Ohio was without a big league club until the inaugural season of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2000. The following year, the Barons, once the AHL's best team, was reestablished as a Sharks affiliate.

1967: What team closed out the Original Six era, with their 11th Stanley Cup title?
    Toronto Maple Leafs. Before being dubbed the Maple Leafs, the team won Stanley Cups as the Arenas in 1918 and the St. Patricks in 1922. As of 2003, this remains Toronto's most recent appearance in the finals.

1996: What team frustrated the province of Quebec with their first ever championship?
    Colorado Avalanche. The city of Quebec hosted this team from 1979-1995 as the Nordiques, and star goalie Patrick Roy played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1985-1995. The first season Avalanche beat the third season Florida Panthers in four straight.
