I commanded the cavalry of the Army of Northern Virginia for most of the War. I was General Lee's "eyes".
J.E.B. Stuart. Stuart's father-in-law Philip St. George Cooke was a major general in the Union Army, though after Stuart's ride around the Union Army he left field command.

Douglas Southall Freeman. There is a 7th book of Freeman's Washington biography written by J. A. Carroll and M. W. Ashworth after Freeman's death.
