How many total seasons have the Atlanta Hawks played home games at Alexander Memorial Coliseum?
    6. Also known as the McDonald's Center, Alexander Memorial Coliseum has been home to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets since 1956. The Hawks played their first 4 seasons there, from 1968-69 to 1971-1972. From 1997 to 1999, while Philips Arena was being built on the old Omni site, the Hawks went back to Alexander Coliseum to play games against less popular opponents. Games against teams like Chicago, N.Y., and the L.A. Lakers were played at the cavernous Georgia Dome, home of the NFL's Falcons. On March 27, 1998, an all-time NBA single-game attendance record was set when 62,046 fans watched the Michael Jordan and the Bulls beat the Hawks at the Dome, 89-74.

On Feb. 24, 1994, the Hawks traded Dominique Wilkins and a first-round draft pick to the lowly L.A. Clippers for ___.
Danny Manning & Manning. This trade broke Nique's heart, and the hearts of many Hawks fans. When Nique & the Clippers came to the Omni on March 25, 1994 he got a long standing ovation. He helped beat his old team, 97-94. Manning played decently in his short time with the Hawks, but went to Phoenix the following season.

How many NBA championships did the Hawks franchise win in the 20th Century?
    1. Their only championship thus far was won in 1958, when the franchise was based in St. Louis. They upset the mighty Boston Celtics, 4 games to 2. The Atlanta Hawks have yet to advance past the NBA's 2nd playoff round.

On Nov. 7, 1994, the Hawks acquired Steve Smith and Grant Long from the Miami Heat, in exchange for ___ and a future first-round pick.
Kevin Willis & Willis. At that time, Kevin Willis led the Hawks in every rebounding category.

During the 1986-87 season, local Atlanta band Tom Gross and the Varsity put out a 45 rpm record (a video came later) for the Hawks, entitled "Nothing Can Stop Us, We're ___"
Atlanta's Air Force. This catchy song was played by several Atlanta radio stations before big games with the Celtics or Pistons, and also during the Hawks' radio introduction. "Spread the word til everybody's heard! The name is the Hawks, and Atlanta is the town!"

In what city did the Hawks' Spud Webb win the NBA All-Star Game Slam Dunk contest?
Dallas. Spud gave Hawks fans 7 exciting seasons. At only 5',7" Spud shocked the NBA when we won a Slam Dunk contest--better yet, in his hometown, Dallas! Reportedly, his vertical leap was as high as 50 inches! Spud beat out Dominique's brother, Gerald. Dominique won the contest in 1985 and 1990.

On March 19, 1989, which Atlanta Hawk hit a buzzer-beater basket to beat the Magic, Kareem, and the defending world champion Lakers 113-111 before a stunned crowd at the Great Western Forum?
Doc Rivers. And my father and I were there! My name was picked by the Hawks' flagship radio station in a contest! Thankfully, there were a few other Hawks fans around me to celebrate with! The Hawks would not beat the Lakers in L.A. again for another 13 years.
