Fun Trivia: A : Andy Griffith Show

Special Sub-Topic: Life in Mayberry

What is the name of the farmer that comes to Mayberry to find a wife and sets his sights on Thelma Lou?

Jeff Pruitt. Jeff becomes very persistent in his quest for Thelma Lou, so Andy is forced to step in a hatch a plan to get rid of him.

What townsman was responsible for the string of cow robberies in Mayberry?
Luke Jenson. The mayor calls in a expert detective that is supposed to solve the crime, but as usual, Andy is the one to solve the mystery.

After being sentenced to serve his jail time with Aunt Bee, Otis begins to refer to Aunt Bee as who?
Bloody Mary. Otis attempts to lock himself up at the jail after a long night of drinking, but is unable to stay there because of other prisoners. Andy's solution to the problem is to send Otis to his home to "sleep it off." Aunt Bee isn't to happy with having a drunk in the house, so she tries to teach Otis a lesson by putting him to work.

What is the name of the dog Barney gets to help find the escaped convict, Ralph Neil?
Blue. Barney trained Blue to help capture Neil, but Andy had no faith in the dog's ability. Surprisingly enough, Blue led Barney right to the convict, but, in true Barney fashion, Neil was able to steal his gun and take him hostage.

What did Andy buy Aunt Bee for her birthday instead of the bed jacket that she had her heart set on?
mason jars. Aunt Bee saw Andy buying the bed jacket and assumed it was for her birthday, but Andy was just purchasing it as a favor for the mayor. When Clara stopped by to see the bed jacket, Andy understood why Aunt Bee had become so upset over her gift. Andy had to trade his lucky fishing pole to the mayor to get Aunt Bee the bed jacket in the end.

In the "Convicts At Large" episode, one of the women says that Barney reminds her of her ex-boyfriend so she began calling Barney by his name. By the end of the episode, all of the convicts and even Floyd were calling Barney by what name?
Al. This is one of my favorite episodes of all time. Andy figures out that Barney and Floyd are in trouble and comes to the rescue.

How much did Emma Brand pay for her prescription she got from Walker's Drugstore?
10 cents. Emma called her medicine her miracle pills, when really they were just a placebo. She believed in her pills so much that when Ellie refused to sell them to her, she claimed she would die without them.

In the episode "My Fair Ernest T. Bass", Andy attempts to teach Ernest T. some manners and then pass him off as his cousin from Raleigh at Mrs. Willey's party. After speaking with Ernest T., Mrs. Willey says that she knows he's not from Raleigh because of his accent. Where does she think he is from?
Boston. This episode is another one of my all time favorites. Andy tries to teach Ernest T. how to act like a proper gentleman, but the only thing he seems to learn is to say, "how do you do Mrs. Willey" and "no coffee, tea, or punch thank you."

What was the name of the country club that Andy and Barney were invited to visit so that they could be considered for membership?
The Esquire Club. Barney was trying so hard to impress everyone that he ended up falling flat on his face with the membership committee. Roger drove to Mayberry to personally invite Andy to be a member, but said that they felt that Barney just didn't fit in.

In the episode "The Education of Ernest T. Bass", Andy attempts to teach Ernest T. geography. Andy tells him that the United States is bordered by Canada, Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean and then asks him if he knows what is the country's Western border. What is the first answer Ernest T. gives to this question?
Old Man Kelsy's Woods. Andy persuades Helen to allow Ernest T. to attend her elementary school class, but he becomes too disruptive. Andy makes him a "certificate for learning" so he can take it back to the mountains with him and get a girl.
