The library. When Lirael was found in the paperwing hangar she was offered a job even though she was not old enough.

Stilken. When Lirael released the stilken she found the statuette of the dog, which she later turned into the disreputable dog.

A book, a dark mirror and panpipes. The book of rememberance and forgetting tells her about the objects. The dark mirror lets Lirael see into the past. The panpipes are like the bells but not as strong.

The disreputable dog. "River Ratterlin:
Swift river born in deepest night,
Rushing forth to catch the light.
Deep ice and dark its swaddling cloth,
The kingdom's foes will feel is wroth.
